Just bought a Data and I had no idea all the functionality beyond the scope. This video told me things I wouldn't even have known to look for - thank you!

Thax for posting this vid ...I gotta say this is no gimmick - its a versatile tool dedicated to modular . I have a Rigol DS4014 4-channel scope and by comparison the DATA is more than adequate for audio use and quicker to dial in multiple channels (..and a lot cheaper too! : P ) The dual clock divider w/ the offset feature demonstrated in the vid is a much better design than some modules I have dedicated for that task. The available triplet/divide by odd #'s is also really a cool feature .. The tuner setting makes quick work of setting up multiple VCO's to a common reference cv/pitch. I haven't explored the dual VCO/LFO's demo'ed in this video and was happy to learn more about them. I am a fan.

Div is it possible to multi task.......have data in wave form mode AND have pam’s workout into channels 3 and 4 passing through a gate out...and be able to flip back and forth to see pans workout in the scope, while the wave forms are sill active? Hope this makes sense.....basically I like this with pamela so i can discern the signals but also want to use the wave forms out at the same time ( and switch the view back and forth ) ...
@dustinatoms5 жыл бұрын
if you are using the clock div/mult outs on this can you at the same time look at the scopes to see whats going in etc? can you use more then 1 page at a time?
@MmostlyRandom4 жыл бұрын
unfortunately no, as soon as you enter another page the previous is disabled

is there any ways to keep the clocks running while using other apps in the module?

So I see you using the DATA in nearly all your videos, but I'm curious if you end up using it in your regular patches? Like would you own one and use it if you weren't making all these highly informative videos for us? If yes, how do you tend to most frequently use it given all its options?

This looks, in the words of mylarmelodies, fucking ACE! What's the oscillator that you're using at the start? Sounds filthy and I love it!
@DivKid7 жыл бұрын
haha! Might have to swear a bit just to channel some inner Mylar in future videos haha. The oscillator at the start is the E350 from Synthesis Technology.
@christolash7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Won't be one of the first oscillators I get but definitely on the shopping list!

Great video as always Ben. I have a question about the processing in this video. At around the 13:13 mark you switch thought the waveforms, and both of the Sawtooth waves sound so incredible, and so far away from anything that I would consider digital. My outputs from the Data do not sound like that!! Was there any processing or saturating going on in audio the signal flow?
@McMxxCiV5 жыл бұрын
Definitely reverb and probably a filter to take the harshness off.

The ultimate gimmick.
@DivKid7 жыл бұрын
Well it's a scope that's comparable to bench scopes in terms of accuracy. So far from gimmicky. The clock generator is far more stable and accurate than a lot of other offerings too. The dual waveform generators with VCAs built in (that also go sub audio into LFO ranges) are also very useful. So not sure I'd say it's a gimmick.
