Module two: Te Tiriti o Waitangi, colonisation and racism

The modules are an introduction to understanding bias in health care. They encourage health professionals to examine their biases, and how they affect the health care they provide and their interactions with consumers.
Module two narrows the focus to ethnic bias, particularly bias against Māori. It is a short overview on these issues. It touches on the role of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as well as colonisation and racism and their impact on Māori health.
