The best way to use this is to farm the desired set and then use sanctifying elixir to craft the 4th piece. And it's better to have an offset goblet because it costs too much and is risky.

@@Diency. I don't think we're playing the same game then. A lot of things in HSR are better than Genshin but the artifact system is not one of them. HSR characters need two sets (relics and planars) so you need to farm two different domains. Off-pieces are also not allowed. Lastly, the strongbox in HSR requires 10 pieces to produce one piece as opposed to Genshin's 3.

I tried so hard, spent more than 100 artifacts and didn't get a single crimson witch circlet for my Diluc. Kept getting flowers and feathers and goblets. It was so bad I just gave up building him.

@@eddieray HSR's relic system is basically better for casuals but worse for dedicated players that would hyperinvest characters. It's easier to get bare-min relics in HSR but relics good enough for 36ing MoC and the like are much harder to get than in Genshin. Relics being split into 4 and 2 means your stamina is split whereas you can camp a single domain in Genshin for most characters. Also, the 10:1 salvage/craft ratio in HSR is just straight up worse than Genshin's 3:1.

Being able to make only 1 elixir per patch would only make sense if you could actually guarantee a good artifact. This doesn’t even guarantee a 4 substat piece, let alone let you choose every substat. As is this gets you a good chance for a decent artifact every couple of patches, which just doesn’t seem very worth the effort. You have to use so many resources, so much time and go through so much exploration, they should have let us choose all 4 substats.

The circlet is the big trap, only cups and sands are good choices since you get the main stat + the 2 diff crit subs and that at least makes 50/50 chance of upgrading in bad subs while the circlet is a 3/4 chance of going to waste (and flowers & feathers have fixed main stats that you will be swimming in after a few weeks of farming the artifact domain)

But I didnt have an on set CD circlet with reasonable CR rolls + another useful attribute like HP or ER. Well guess what, this feature got me exactly what I wanted. Only sad part is that it rolled into def once but I guess its better than all rolls going into def lmao xD

This is the single item in the game that gives you the most false hope. I tried on 3 accounts, and as expected the dual crit sub stat still a heavy gacha mechanic like normal, which means you can get better artifact by farming anyways. Not only that you have to wait a long time for the elixirs, but the payoff is worse than doing character gacha. The game just adds layers of salt with this item. But if you manage to pull the custom artifact with a decent sub stat upgrade, then good on you. For me it isn't worth the time to wait.

If you want to optimise sanctifying potion efficiency for leveling trash artifacts for the transmuter, generate just three 3-star unctions at a time. The 4-star to 3-star difference is 4:1 so two 4-star essences equates eight 3-star unctions. It takes _seven_ 3-star unctions to get a 5-star artifact to level 4, so two 4-star essences is wasted experience. One can play around this by maintaining a 1:3 ratio for 4-star vs 3-star but it's just more flexible to deal with 3-stars.

Even 25, 50 or 100 runs wouldnt even be as bad as the transmuter, because even a perfect artifact can roll into less than ideal but still good artifacts (say crit dmg instead of crit rate) instead of this bologna elixers that give you an artifact and roll all into def.

i am terrified to even use them, i assume the best use case is for Elemental Mastery main stat characters like Nahida or a Bloom/Hyperbloom trigger character as a EM goblet is something like a 2.5% drop chance and circlet being 4% so you just use whatever one you can find, that alone would make a crafted EM main stat piece instantly high value as you could also dictate two substats as a bonus.

After playing the game from the start till now, I've come to the conclusion that DEF and HP rolls have a higher chance, except for when you actually want HP or DEF for a character, then the roll odds change to higher ATK rolls.

Considering the massive work you have to put into to get Elixers and the artifact can still turn to garbage while leveling up, it’s simply not worth it at all. Okay so hear me out, it's been a few weeks since the version came out and with in game reward (you get some in the natlan tribe treasure caves) i got another from the monthly pass and got one from mihoyo game mail, i crafter 3 different articacts, 1 flower, 1 feather, 1 circlet, i selected crit sub stats on all 3 and when rolling they had at least 3 of the 5 sub rolls into the crit stats, all 3 artifacts ended up being an upgrade to pieces I was using, what cought my eye is that the rolls i got on the minor affixes were all max possible rolls, it's worth using buy will take a long time to build a full character since u can only do 1 artifact type per cycle

i spent 3 bottle only for one artifact (circlet), aim for crit dmg main stats, and sub stats crit rate and atk. After i leveled it up to 20. all of them rolled to hp. its basically 50% / 50% if i want to get atleast rolled to atk or crit rate (50%) instead of random artifacts (50%), and 25% / 75% if i want to rolled only to crit rate sub stats (25%).

I like exploration, so getting 6 elixirs was easy (without battle pass). I love Hutao and Yelan and I needed new masks for both of them (as they need HP, but we're using ATK substats lol). And so I got them Crit main stat with Crit and HP substats and the rolls were still upgrades overall. In conclusion, I think this is great for upgrading from older pieces on older sets for characters. But maybe not so much creating a NEW piece on a new set (if you're farming the new sets) for a character. But depends on your mindset going into it and the RNG gods lol

As per now, there are total of 6 elixirs available to a F2p player, enough for a goblet with 2 to spare, considering we get 2 every time they release more levels of the monument there to improve (for this version the limit is 20, probably next limit will be 40) and more 3 for the next upcoming tribes rewards for opening chests and the next conversion , is safe to say we will have another 6 upcoming elixirs for sure, so for people actively playing the game I don't think there will be shortage of this material, it will all comes down to time, I believe it will be pretty much like the crowns they hand out for talents, it will be limited but within reach of everyone that is active in the game.

For the amount of resources that you have to put into getting just one elixir and the long cooldown, and still having to endure the bad rolling RNG, it is a scam. The ability to just transform garbage artifacts into EXP is great though. The creation via the elixir I'm only going to do with found and BP elixirs. The fragments are available just in 9 specific precious chests in Natlan. The ancestral temple area has 3 different fragments. There's one near the volcanic area in the children of echoes and so on. There are guides already so just go and get them.

This patch is around 10 f2p elixirs you can get including the one we will get from mail. Honestly the best use of this is after you get 3 good pieces in a set and crafting the 4th slot you don't have a good off piece for. It will make farming for a good set a lot faster like many weeks worth of farming, even months. So this patch depending on what you will craft can be 2 Goblets, 5 Sands, 3 Circlets or 10 flowers/plumes. At the end of the day the systems work for what is intended in making easier to get a full set going, 90% of the time almost is expended for the last piece that is very rare to get with desired substats. Also we have to wait what Hoyo decided in future patches, outside of the BP and the salvage for 1 Elixir we don't know how often or how many elixirs they will give us each patch.

there are 3 ring you can get some chests in the world give you a fragment every 3 fragments make one ring so in total there are 9 fragments and 3 rings every ring opens a secret door in natlan there are 3 of those doors behind those doors there are like 5-10 holden artfiacts (can't remember) and 1 elixer so you can get 3 elixers just by exploring the entirity of natlan

Yes, it is slow to save up over multiple patches. Yes, there is no guarantee that it will roll well. However, compared to the amount of time that it would take to get an on-element, on-set Double Crit goblet... Yeah, I can wait 4 months to get enough elixirs as opposed to grinding a single Domain every day for 2 years. Also, the Elixirs could EASILY show up as Event rewards and Exploration rewards, in addition to the Battle Pass one and the one you get from extracting trash artifacts. So, getting 3-4 per patch doesn't even seem particularly unlikely.

@@sicklyfly6907 Granted, it isn't "F2P", but we will at least be getting 2 per patch from Extracting and Battle Pass. And I think it is extremely likely that it is an Event Reward for at least 1 event per patch (whatever the main Event is in that patch, similar to how HSR gives Self-Modeling Resin). That is 3 per patch. Will there be a 4th per patch? Almost certainly for the near future. But 5.0 has a total of 8 available (1 from Extraction, 1 from Anniversary Rewards, 2 from Sigil Offering Level 10 & Level 20, 3 from the Obsidian Rings, and 1 from Battle Pass). The pattern currently appears that they are going to be available every 10 levels of the Sigil Offering in Natlan, so that will be 3 up to level 50. Plus, the additional Tribes are likely to have Obsidian Rings of their own, which will likely provide more.

I think the main events will hand them out hoping for more would be cope. On set double crit is only worth it if your off set options are trash, otherwise sands would probably be better.

While I do think it's a very underwhelming system upon first release, so long as they made sure you can actually get at least 3-4 per patch (not including BP) I think it's something that will get better over time as players can build up more of a stockpile. It's not going to replace hours of farming, it's there as a consolation after you've spent hours farming and getting nothing. I do think one niche use though is that if you're sure you're going off-piece for the goblet, and just seriously don't have any good options (I've been playing 3 years and still lack good goblets for a lot of elements), you can craft a goblet in a set you otherwise never use, so you can still craft an on-piece circlet or sands for the set you actually need. But even that only assumes if you're using if after you've stockpiled enough that you can drop 4 with no worries.

today i made a circlet for my arlecchino with crit rate as main and atk% and crit dmg as minor substats, the other substat turned out to be flat hp. then leveled it up to 4, def was added, then the next 2 rolls went to def. finally made a circlet with 24% crit dmg :( i think they should raise the amount of elixers we can get each patch

Not sure on the specifics. But i remember watching a video when natlan came out (some sort of guide) and they randomly picked some flowers during the video, gave them some elixir (i think like 3, 1 per flower?) so not sure what was going on there, though people seemed to have thought that you can get them just from exploring various ways. Natlan is still new so hopefully there will be more proper guides and info in the future.

i chose to make an EM sands with double crit, and tldr it rolled the same. Let me explain: It had crit rate, damage, and flat atk. 3 visible stats with a hidden fourth. Moga's circlet was 3 stats as well, (crit rate, em and def) with a hidden fourth (def%) 3 out of 5 rolls for Moga's circlet went into the desired stats ( 2 crit rolls and an em roll). My sands also did that in the same way, in the same order. I wonder if these pieces are coded to at least guarantee 1 roll into one of the stats, or 1 into each desired substat... if Hoyo can do that. I wonder how other players rolls went and if they got level ups in there desired substats. A survey seeing how many rolls went into substats and based on what pieces could be interesting, though idk what one could learn from that...

issue is that relics are another form of Gacha in this game, why item like this in theory is awesome, but it doesn't help much, its no different from Horns in HSR, you end up farming better piece in the end of the day, this doesn't relieve anything

Late to the party, but if you lower your expectations a bit, this thing is far away from Scam. There are 3 elixiers in the new areas, 2 in the sigil-system and one during the cycle. We get another one for anniversary. That makes 7 in this patch. Also I expect one every 10 levels for the pyro sigils since the first two were at level 10 and 20. I created a feather for my Navia and a Sands for Mualani. Both turned out decent. And I have 3 elixiers left now. Also I was lucky and had one double-crit artifact in every cave. Which gave me an incredible feather for Mualani and a decent flower (plus a good def% for Kachina). Goblet is off piece and Headpiece is pretty bad but for the crit stat, its fine. I got a top 8 Mualani in less than 2 weeks according to Akasha. Never was done farming for a character this fast. But here is just a thought: I would never use the elixier for the goblet, since its way too expensive. Same for the crown, but mor because you basically only need one fix substat for that (the opposite crit-stat) and it feels reaaaally wasted this way. For the goblet you can always go off-piece. This is something ppl seem to forget. Genshin has the luxury of an off piece artifact, which other games do not have (HSR).

I think sands I probably most worth it. Circlet inherently doesn't have double crit on subs and goblet can just be off piece. Sands are pretty hard to get and are cheap to craft. Either way, best course of action is probably just to farm the set and then decide your worst piece.

there are 3 elixirs in natlan they are in the tribal spaces of each trib with a lot of 5 star artifacts from the new sets so in total a f2p can get 6 this patch and a spender can get 7
