Lieber Mogli, WOW!!! I absolutely adore the album version, but what you did here is arguably even more spectacular, considering the minimalistic arrangement. I find this song very moving for some reason. I discovered your music through the Netflix film "Expedition Happiness" and became an instant fan! Deepest apologies for how my government treated you at the border. All I can say is, this government does a lot of villainous shit. Harassing German tourists barely even ranks on the scale of evil they have established for themselves. But, please know that most Americans do not condone such behavior. One of my best friends is a German immigrant, and another is a Canadian immigrant. For that matter, I myself am descended entirely from immigrants! We are a nation of immigrants. Most citizens are probably unaware of how draconian this government has become. I hope your beautiful film will help to highlight that, so perhaps we can become more hospitable toward visitors. In my opinion, the way you were treated is a national embarrassment. Please keep making beautiful music. You have a rare gift. I think the reason this music synced so well with the film is, both are deeply spiritual. You went out looking for something extraordinary, and you found it. I know it's really late, but I'm just wondering (since your comment was written in 2018) if you knew at the time that their roadtrip occurred when Obama was president? I'm not trying to start an argument, because America has her problems obviously, but I just saw a comment by someone on another one of her videos blaming their border troubles on Trump and it disgusted me. Their film goes to show that border problems aren't new to America just because of Trump and that they existed when Biden was VP.

I'm not in love with either figurehead, nor do I have any love for either of the prevailing US political parties. My comment was meant to criticize failed immigration policies that have persisted for decades under administrations of both colors. Like the War on Drugs, these policies have inconvenienced millions of people, while providing no meaningful deterrent to the most sinister actors, who simply ignore such laws anyway. The downside of being a 3rd party person is that your candidate never wins. The upside is that you are then free to criticize both parties without pulling any punches. "With no power comes no responsibility." I don't feel that I have any say in what the government does with the money they steal from my paycheck. I disagree with the majority of it. Examples of this include their [chicken]hawk-ish foreign policy; continued support for the failed War on Drugs; draconian immigration policies; desire to illegalize abortion; etc. I feel like if the Republicans had their way, we'd be perpetually at war with the entire world. We'd have to hire an army of cops to enforce all their drug laws, abortion laws, and immigration laws. And then they'd say there's no money left for things like medicaid and unemployment benefits because "we need to tighten our belts"... LOL! Don't get me wrong -- my grievances against the Left are more numerous than I could ever hope to list in this medium. And between the two, I would still be compelled to choose the Right; mainly because I refuse to give up my guns, ever! But these are just a few reasons why I affiliate with the Libertarians rather than the Republicans. Re: President Trump... I love his hard-line stance on China. China has been the bully of the world for far too long! (By that, I mean the Chinese Communist Party. Chinese people are great). And I do find Trump's schoolyard taunting and complete lack of filter highly amusing. But as the "leader of the free world", I would hope for someone who conducts themselves with a bit more decorum and class. It's sad that it came down to a reality TV star, vs one of the least likeable women in politics. Trump really won the lottery when the Dems threw Sanders under the bus. Polls show that Sanders would have trounced Trump in the general election. Hillary, in contrast, was easily brushed aside by Obama in '08, showing just how much heartland America did NOT want her in the White House! Politics is a circus, man. Given how absurd it has become, I simply cannot bring myself to care anymore. Back to the original subject: I would take Mogli's music over talk radio any day! :-) Cheers, ~ Pete
