@Aragmar Verilian. - The trouble is the 'Fast Food' industry or the "FAT CATS' that run them are only too happy to see them close down, - to them it means less competitors and more money in their pockets. They just simply see them as a nuisance - in their way to getting richer.
The fact the the Stall owner is so friendly make this food video perfect.

I really like how this guy keeps this tradition going, thinking it's just for old people. As some say below, it gives him an apice, his feeling of the traditional. so, hey you, owner of the stand, keep going, from oversea we support you.

I wish I were in Japan!!! I loved oden as a child! There was a little odenya behind the Higashi Nakagami train station and while walking from the station on my way home from school everyday the mamasan would stop me as I passed, so that I might teach her a new word in English. She would stuff me with her yummy oden in exchange. Oh the wonderful times of our childhoods

When I visit japan, I plan on stopping by as many of these food stalls/booths/carts/ as I can. If japanese street food is anything like the rest of the worlds, you get the best and most unique flavors at these kind of places. It may be years down the line, but I can't wait to travel and eat as much different foods as I can find from around the world. I'm so ready. I gotta work on the language barrier so I'm not a bother.

@yummychips_3 жыл бұрын
sorry to be a pooper. Ramen and Sushi are pretty modern for Japan. The concept you probably prefer was made last century, and not to far off. Around ww2 era where Japan heavily adopted it. Oden is vastly different. More often than not, its a major culture shock to the pallete. Most westerners might enjoy it as a novelty, but unless you got a strong diverse pallete, your not going to like it due to the strong oden broth flavor. Sushi is a whole other story. Authentic sushi is fermented. Very few westerners enjoy this type of cuisine. Evenmoreso since the fish is sour tasting, and some europeans countries create a variation of their own that is salted. Modern sushi has only existed for a few decades. Heck sushi in Japan was heavily popularized by the west. It was a lesser known cuisine in Japan, until it was highlighted by foreigners that some in Japan ate fish raw and fresh. The reason I am being a pooper is because of this point. If you live in the west, you can easily enjoy Ramen and Sushi. A lot of major cities have establishments for it. Often times they cater towards the local pallete to. So you can easily still enjoy wonderful Japanese cuisine, albeit not entiretly the same. It still comes close. If you want to try Oden, there will be a place to find it locally to.

I know this posted 2 years ago but how in the world you can spread that BS with such confidence. You must be trolling or on something, bro. Japanese didn't know sushi?? What is the modern sushi? Even newer type of sushi(nigiri) has existed for centuries. Westerners made sushi popular in Japan?? I am at a loss for words😂
