No it's because it looks like a pretentious headache of a film. The trailer shows us a monkey person and then says "I'm Robbie Williams, I'm one of the most famous people in the world." I'm 30 years old and American and I've never heard of this guy. If he really was as famous as he claims then Americans would be the first to know about him so the whole "oh you're American" isn't an excuse and neither is "well he was more famous years ago" there are artists who only had 4 years of an active career and everyone knows who they were. Next a biopic is not original. This may be an original concept for a biopic but biopics are not original. I havent seen this movie but I know what to expect. It's going to start off with him either as a baby or a child, we're going to see him become a singer and rise to stardom but then fall due to various reasons and then be humbled by his fall and then find solace in making his current career what it is but accepting he wont be as famous as he was before but that's ok. Is that basically the plot? Thats literally what almost every biopic does and its so predictable and exhausting. I want biopics like the SNL movie where we see a very specifc moment in someone's life. I think.those are good biopics but Scorsese is a master at making biopics however his films are an exception. Most biopics that arent directed by scorsese are boring. I personally thought the Bob Dylan movie was just good but not great

The reality is people like to complain about Hollywood rehashing the same ideas and IPs and want original and creative films, but when comes down to it originality is risky and repeating something that’s known to work is the safer bet. I get the idea of it, and I hear the movie is pretty good but I still think they should have just straight up used Robbie Williams himself.

I haven't seen the film yet but I really want to but I imagine they made him a monkey because it's a metaphor for how fame makes a monkey out of you or he probably just really likes monkeys.
