Was so cool to see Goffs Schoolhouse! And then my Grandpas portrait (a glimpse of it on the wall ) My Grandpa rescued the schoolhouse from rubble and made it his home…he hand dug water lines from the railroad tracks to the schoolhouse by hand…in his 60s!! They sold it in the early 90s to the friends of the Mojave when they needed to move closer to medical care for his wife. He had gardens and his corrrals and round pens out back where he broke horses for area ranchers…. I have memories of him on the porch at the schoolhouse playing his fiddle in the evening… Ty for the joy you gave me w that glimpse !!

@@firefliesandthimbles wow, that's so cool, thank you for sharing that piece of history. Your Grandparents sound like amazing people. I'll be working on a video of just that place for my other channel. It was a really nice museum. I'm so happy you found and enjoyed the video!

@scottymac5174 having done it both ways, I didn't notice a difference in difficulty from one direction to the next. I'm sure wet conditions would change things significantly, but we had good weather both trips.

Another great video. You always have lots of informative info. I’m amazed you didn’t have history on that one house. The penny can was interesting. Finding the petroglyphs was neat. Watch out for that step. 👍13

@@CraigKoppel thank you. Luckily a viewer knew some information on the cabin and shared it in the comments. The petroglyphs were incredible, that vertical cave still haunts me 🤪

Cool videos of the old Government/Mojave Road! I’ve run it from east to west starting at Lanfare Rd and ending at the Traveler’s Monument. I want to do the far east end and the far west end next time I’m out there. Thanks for sharing and greetings from South Carolina.

Hoping that you guys got through the earthquake up there OK! That fault by Ferndale/Centerville beach. Some of the biggest quakes in the USA in the past century are from around there. That was a 7.0. I remember the Loma Prieta quake down here in Santa Cruz county. A 6.8.

I was down in Capitola. My phone started doing this emergency beeping. Tsunami Warning.. evacuate to higher ground. WTF? Took me about four hours to actually what was happening. None of our local news stations.
