This is how companies like Apple and Microsoft got started: a couple of really smart dudes working in a garage on cutting-edge stuff. Kudos dudes.
@Hellsong894 ай бұрын
Its not cutting edge, since soviets come up the most well known example of this and they did it with tech of their era. It was just unpractical for the given purpose and has the issue of high winds preventing it from flying like airplane, well as problems of boat in rougher waters. Sure it might do well as fun vehicle on calm waters, but you will run into issue when its not ideal conditions. This was developed as fast attack vehicle originally, but price was high, it was was expensive and had high detection range ie poor stealth so it was scrapped and replaced with ICBM's with better range and nuclear submarines. As leisure craft it might have some uses on running trough calm shallow waters, but as we saw in test range is abysmal and mechanically controlling gasoline engine has its own hurdles but could be done. There might be small high end market for something like this, on people who cant afford or fly a plane, but then again government classifying is the issue, is it a plane or a boat. Different set of rules apply... but then again his in China, with connections to CCP and money anything can be done there, but for rest of the world its tougher one. Specially when you increase flight height due rougher waters. In the end unless you need to move in relatively straight line from point A to B fast over calm shallow waters, there is little use for craft size of this, that cant be done better with say hydro foil. This is essentially faster hovercraft, but is far more delicate and prone to weather changes.

The tandem design has been tested by Günther W. Jörg since 1963. This can also be seen here in the film. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandem_Airfoil_Flairboat Jörg has developed every conceivable basis to ensure that the tandem always remains balanced due to its 2 pairs of wings and does not aim for a loop.

@@deadeyeduncan5022 I don't care whether you have knowledge of the matter or not and your bluff attempt doesn't work. I built the tanden design from carbon in sandwich construction, 8.5m long x 3.2 wide, with a BMW Boxer Moror with over 100 hp and rear propeller over 20 years ago :)). The result was a device capable of over 220 km/h that simply ironed out 2m waves as if they weren't even there.

The author of this channel is certainly a very talented person. But all these cool stories about simple guys from a garage are greatly exaggerated and romanticized. The founders of Apple and Microsoft had influential rich parents who allowed them to get a good university education and helped them in the formation of companies. Alas, but it is almost impossible to start a company on talent alone, for this you need money and friendly connections with influential people.
I believe when the speed increases on this machine it will become unstable I have been lucky enough to have been able to build a model that flies in ground effect but not being able to get to a manned flight yet 😊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/moO0laiqq9SriJofeature=shared
The tandem design has been tested by Günther W. Jörg since 1963. This can also be seen here in the film. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandem_Airfoil_Flairboat Jörg has developed every conceivable basis so that the tandem always remains in balance thanks to its 2 pairs of wings and does not attempt to loop. It has nothing in common with the balance of an airplane as it is more like a chair with 4 legs. If the legs are the same length, the chair does not tilt in one direction. This is also the TAMDEM philosophy: The pair of rear wings only lifts what the pair of front wings lifts. There is always a balance. By the way, Jörg solved the problem of looping with different profiles between the front and rear. A brilliant inventor who used the ground effect to be absolutely energy efficient and did NOT require any parts in the water that could be damaged by floating garbage and allow it to be driven over sandbanks or flat islands.

The amazing thing is how it lifts up off the water even at zero ground speed! You clearly got the motor angle just right.

If my math is correct, is power consumption is ~1,5kwh/100km which is great👍🏻 on par with electric scooters 👌🏻 Battery capacity is still the limiting factor... 2kWh battery would be enough for 100km with reserve. Or multiple smaller scooter batteries with a quick change system.

Ground effect can double lift, but 1-2 meter waves make it hard for long-distance coastal flights. On calm lakes, hydrofoils reduce surface area, though the structure becomes complex. Combining surface wings and hydrofoils could improve load capacity with limited power. Biplane designs shift the center of gravity, complicating flight control, especially in gusty conditions. Seeing your experiments reminds me of the Wright brothers!
