Supposedly playing Celine Dion will do the same. Put a small speaker in a plastic container/Tupperware. Make a small hole in the plastic container and run the wires through, then seal with e.g. hot glue. Dig a hole about 1.5 foot deep in the area where you have mole issues, put the plastic box in it, then run the speaker wires out of the hole and fill the hole up with soil. Run the wires to any device that will play music and put Celine Dion on full volume and on repeat. Weather protect the music player (e.g. old MP3 player or such) with another plastic box above ground. For extended use run an outdoor extension cord to provide power for your music player, or get a suitable solar powered charger for extra mobility.

Well, nothing else has worked for us... poison, a team of feral cats or solar sonic thumpers. Can't hurt to try this. Thank you! When we bought our house 17 years ago there used to be an airplane Thumper attached to a T post clothesline. My husband thought it looked stupid because it was pretty aged and threw it out. At the time there were no signs of moles.. We then got a couple of cats and that helped quite a bit until the cats eventually got killed off from the road traffic or just just left to go with some other cats. Since then we've had a big issue with the moles. Being that I'm about to grow a full size vegetable garden I need to deal with this issue. I'll let you know how it works. Those beads are called pony beads by the way.

Thank you Jackie. So those are pony beads I was using. Wherever I have used this mole chaser, there are no moles. My garden used to be full of moles, now for years none. Other gardens I tried, the moles left there too.

If the bottom of your milk container would be angled up a bit, as some of them are, you could place inside a few of those beads, or just some pebbles - they should create a lot more noise without falling through the hole.

unless you have wind everyday, these are not 100%. Moles do not "remember" to stay away when the wind stops.

Dig 2ft hole near the tunnels .put in small water proof garden bit 2ft or 17 inches. Put it in the hole with a radio playing speech and music.Mole thinks a new mole has taken over.Legs it.It works.

This seems more like and arts and crafts class than making something that kills moles.

The sound will scare them off. Especially plastic will make a sound which vibrates through the earth (as earth is 75% water) so they will leave as they are frightened. If you will read about moles, then you will better understand their highly sensitive natures. Better yer, stand out in the yard and watch for your soil to move and stab it with a big, long knife, several times ,since you won't see it. I prefer the killing because once they realize that sound will not kill them, they will come back. The element of surprise is the trick here. I prefer the metal ones as they are prettier but they get stolen. So many choices. This invention is cheap and well thought out.
