There creatures are known as Armias Dontmesswithus, aka "army." They lurk in the depths of the comment sections on videos and in twitter. They adapt to raid other comment sections that have nothing to do with their kings. Their kings are in fact quite humble but their offsprings give the kings a bad reputation. When my Mom taught me how to cook the fish, she used the measurements like half rice bowl of soy sauce and wine, one Chinese soup spoon of sugar, one hand full of green onion, etc. The rice bowl and soup spoon are all the ones owned by my Mom for the last 30 or 40 years.

My Mama is Chinese and this is what it’s like when cooking with her. She doesn’t measure, so recreating her Beef and Broccoli is a nightmare because it ALWAYS tastes different! lol I don’t question her though, she’s been cooking for 20+ years and looks forever in her 40’s. XD

This video made me emotional and cry. The mannerisms that your mother had mirror my own when she teaches me how to cook. Sadly it's not as much as much anymore since life had gotten busier. Cooking was the only way that I connected to my roots and for some reason it made me very sentimental watching you cook with your mother. Thank you for sharing this lovely video

More videos with your mom! I can relate to this - my mom is a hawk in the kitchen. She knows I can cook, she just likes to pick at small details. That's why I prep and cook everything at my home, then bring it over to my parent's. Love her.

I love ‘pinch of this dash of that’ cooking that we can only really get from our grandmothers and mothers. There’s something so important about learning that instinctual feel for the balance of cooking that you can only really get to learn at someones side, rather than from a book. My Nain taught me how to cook and it was always like this- just knowing from the smell and the feel of the food if it was right or not. That’s what makes it taste like home

@@davidhauser3261 It actually is... Dumplings come in many shapes and forms and while this might not look like a potsticker or any other generic type of dumpling it is considered a dumpling under the broad definition of dough wrapped around filling. I am super glad my dad had me in the kitchen as the sous chef after 11 years old and on and taught me proper knife technique, uniform veg. cutting and cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Found the recipe from the IG caption! BAOZI RECIPE (makes 24) Baozi Wrapper All purpose flour: 500g Warm water: 250ml (10ml more during summer) Yeast: 5g Pinch of sugar Add some warm water to the yeast and mix all other dry ingredients in a bowl. Slowly add the yeast mixture and remaining water until dough forms. Knead for around 10 minutes and let dough rest for about 30 min. Baozi Filling Ground pork: 500g Scallion, Ginger, Salt, Sugar, Soy sauce, White pepper, Cilantro, Cabbage, Sesame Oil, Vegetable Oil Add the sugar, salt, white pepper and soy sauce into the ground pork, and mix it well. Keep mixing and add the chopped ginger, cilantro, cabbage and scallions. Then add the vegetable oil and mix again, until mixture becomes sticky. Add sesame oil, mix again. Chill the filling mixture in the fridge for 30 min. Divide the dough (into 45g pieces)and use to wrap the filling. Put the baozi in the steamer (turned off) and let rise for 30min until it becomes slightly bigger. Start steaming with cold water and steam for 15 minutes, starting from when you see steam coming out. Once done steaming, turn it off and wait 3 minutes before opening the cover. Enjoy! 🙌
