Hi Mike, if the snakemeat has mercury in it, you shouldn't feed the meat to any livestock that you're planning to eat because the livestock will store the mercury. That snake was an amazing catch! I can't believe you were brave enough to stand and fight that monster.

Carl Tauber rescues would have been a better word. I have hogs and lizards as pets/rescues that eat it up. The ones being sold for food don’t get it for that reason, well most the time... a little mercury never hurt no one 😂😂

It's great what you do, making a contribution to removing the pythons from the Everglades. It's unfortunate that people let these snakes go in the first place and seeing all the devastation they have caused as a result. Once an invasive species get outs there, it's just about impossible to fix.

Also Hurricane Andrew that devastated southern Fl. A few years ago flattened almost everything in sight especially 2 reptile breeding facilities that had a lot of lizards n pythons.. it started with some snakes being let loose but those breeding facilities absolutely added alot of the devastation we see now!!! 😥 Kuddoos to these hunters. Takes a lot of strength n persistent to be able to do this day in n day out!!!

However, this really applies to pregnant or nursing mothers and young children. To learn more you can look up mercury poisoning in 1953 Minamata Japan.

The tape measure was not straight and you can see when he weighs it he puts his hand on it and you see the weight get heavier as he puts the camera on it and when he pans put his hand is on it. He also accidentally cuts the head off then says he will lose at least a foot... In saying all that still a really impressive snake

@@jimccc9467 You can just shoot, unfortunately its very difficult to kill them by just shooting and it is quite inhumane. Some people do catch them by the head and then put a bullet through there head but just opening fire isn't a proper strategy.
