If those snakes are not yet in North Carolina I've heard they soon will be. They are so prolific and they're very hard to find. Perhaps moose and other dogs are the answer as the snakes can be found without being seen. I'm guessing bloodhounds could also be trained to track pythons. Props to moose, I didn't know they were using dogs to hunt them.

I've been in and out of Burma probably more than any other American. Over 2,000 legal entries, and about 5 illegal. Didn't see any Burmese pythons, though. But it was probably because I was in the wrong region, and plus: I was mostly in towns and wasn't looking for pythons. I met a Brit who said he was there to buy monkey skulls. I told him that was sicko. I saw a vendor selling bear parts, and reported him to the local police. In 1999, I took pics of stalls selling tiger pelts. The vendors were angry at me. I placed the pics on the internet. Within a few months, all the market stalls selling tiger parts - were gone.

Thank you for making a more "realistic" video. I watched the History channels stuff with sensationalist music and overstatement of the danger; it was "terrible." It was pretty cool to watch, but it'll fool some people who haven't learned about this stuff. In fact, the comments where scary. I don't think many people choose to think critically... The snakes never bit the men which means, I believe, that most of the yelling in the show wasn't really of fear. They also got the snakes to strike the camera to make them look super dangerous. They had time to do that so the atmosphere of quick and dangerous wasn't really real. They also talked about bears and panthers being there, but they are really, really "rare." It's reality TV- ironically not reality. That kind of stuff really annoys me. Maybe History channel could make something interesting that doesn't play on primitive fear. That'd probably be more work though. Anyway, you did add one strike sound which I didn't like, but which I respect since it was only one, but it was still a great video.

You're right. These animals were brought here by idiots who found themselves in a circumstance to where they couldn't take care of them, then just dumped them into the rivers, lakes, everglades. THOSE are the a-holes that deserve to be skinned. As long as guys that respect the animals are handling this, you can bet that the most humane way of putting these snakes down is being used. But, make NO mistake....as a Floridian, I can tell you that not only does this HAVE to be done, but we're two decades behind (at least). Think of how many nests were created over those two decades.... We've got a BIG problem on our hands here. So, another huge thank you to PC, and all the other guys with the will, and "brass" to do this kind of work. Same goes for the big iguanas, that aren't native....that's another story. But, I digress...you're right. It's always sad to see an animal, through no fault of its own, get put down.

I'm a Canadian so I don't really understand the whole situation the State of Florida is up against. Seems like the State wants the snakes. Were it up to me all these invasive snakes would be shot on sight and left for alligator/snapping turtle food.

We don’t want this invasive species, or any others. There is a bounty on them and some guys dedicate a lot of their time to eradicating them. Pythons are wreaking havoc on our native mammals, reptiles and birds.

It would be more effective if they allowed firearm hunting of them but FL doesn't trust the hunters to not shoot the wrong snakes? I guess.

Just a suggestion I used to do with smaller snakes, but why not put the female in a cage where you found her and let the males come to her and then go back and likely find more around her?

They probably do that. I know the National Park Service tried that and would collect a dozen or two males in some cases.

Good job 👍 What is the purpose of catching, bagging, and then dispath? Was always curious about that. I know your a real pro, but is it safer to dispatch on the spot?

He's said keeping the meat and skins fresh would be an issue, live in a sack the snake stays fresh

If you kill them you have to refrigerate them. Alive they stay fresh. But I have seen him shoot them with a 22 pistol and suppressor on the side of the road also.
