Watching tournaments with all the talent out there and then watching a Sonic or Steve win is starting to make SSBU lose its luster. In other words, it's dulling the game at top tier levels for the common viewer. Sure, those players using those characters are amazing, and I'm not knocking them. They are great! Be PC all you want, but most of us feel this way. Congrats to wrath, as I know he's been grinding a very long time. Winning a tournament has gotta feel amazing at that level. Seems like a great guy too!

Very surprising tournament ! Also, I dont mind watching kazuya, Steve, minmin or gnw, ... Sonic however should deserve some more heat in the conversation.

Idk what happened with Wildz here. I thought he was one of the whiniest players, he literally ragequit grand finals vs a Pichu a month ago. Here he gets 3-0’d by Sonic and takes it in stride, then brings out banjo and laughs while getting rolled in losers? Hopefully he stays like that

I see a lot of people in chat/comments saying that Sonic, Steve, Kazuya minmin etc are beatable characters that have even or losing MUs. And that is all true, but at the end of the day, we get to curate our playing experience, and I think it is very reasonable to remove characters who make the experience worse, even if those characters are not impossible or even unreasonable to beat. The game would very likely be better for players and viewers if Steve, Sonic, Kazuya and GnW had never been added to the game in the first place. The argument should not be “is Steve beatable, is he broken?” It should be “does this character maintain or improve the competitive and viewing experience that we are creating here in our community. We should be able to mostly agree that these characters are unhealthy for players and/or viewers and that Nintendo made the game for casuals and there decisions sometimes must be corrected to maintain competitive integrity.
