Beautiful design! The black handle looks cool, too! It looks like either ray skin or crocodile leather. I've always admired how traditional Korean bow makers use isinglass to bind several components of the gakgung including the cover for the outer edge of the bow. Did you also use isinglass to attach the Birch design or something else?

haha thanks. no, this is birchbark pattern fabric. i used gorilla glue to wrap it. i havent played with traditional materials yet.

The bow looks indeed very nice! And I admire your technique: you seem to draw relatively easily high weights, even though you are quite muscled, but certainly not very massive. What is your favorite draw length?

@@iyoo1 For example I feel comfortable with drawing 28-29 inches, even though I am capable of drawing 30+. I am sorry, but as you can tell, english is not my first language.

I've been debating on doing this with Birch bark, but it looks really good with the cloth! Is that gator grip?

How much mass did that add to the bow?

i havent weighted when i made it but i used about 100 grams of material. lots of them are cut out in order to make it fit. including glue weight i would assume 60 grams or so. do't quote me on that though. ^_^;;

yes. this is a birch bark patterned fabric you can get in crafting stores. used gorilla glue to wrap it. :)

dude looks to be about my height, if he is, he's definitly pulling at least 29" possibly 30" which is only an inch shy of the bow's max draw length, given how Korean bows are measured and how they tend to stack, that means he's probably pulling at least 86lbs. doesn't look like torture to me, looks like he's enjoying it, i know i certainly enjoy my 70lb at 30" bow.
