I love acorn glue. I use it to hold binding in place. Pressing it helps, it dries quicker. Also clear Elmer’s works . I like the needle point on the acorn bottle.

Yes! The girl at the store told me people use it to hold binding in place. I tried using my Sewline glue stick pen, but it stretched the tiny squares. So I’m hoping this is the solution.

I use the Acorn products and like them! It is wonderful for tiny work. The glue can be applied in a 'smile' shape when making HSTs. Seams are very flat when using the pressing solution.

Add a green or aqua Kim Diehl to those mis-matched pink and gray yards for a touch of contrast, and you have yourself a nice sized quilt!

I’ve used the Acorn glue for snow balling corners; I exclusively use it for that. I just try to apply the glue to the parts of the fabric that end up getting cut off because I don’t want any glue on the seams or finished block. Hope that makes sense.

And really, my problem with the Acorn system is the fact that people are using it on every seam. Isn’t it supposed to be for the seams that really need it. I can get a good flat seam with a hot iron and clappers.

Use a glue stick! It will wash out.swipe and sew. I use glue sticks on alot of my quilting.iron w/pressing cloth if needed as pre sewing. Dries clear. Use lightly. Dr it on scrap first. Just saying

I was starting to use a Sewline glue pen, which is great for EPP, but on these tiny pieces, it was stretching and distorting those teeny tiny little squares too much. But you are correct, a glue stick or pen is great for a lot of things!

I love all of the acorn products! I use the glue for small/difficult pieces and the easy press pen for bulky/stubborn seams. Since I don't use it all the time it has lasts quite a while.

I love that Acorn precision piecing pen and solution! I’ve been using it for my Indigo Way quilt and my pieces are sooo flat. After using the first kit I bought a gallon! LOL! It does last pretty long. I don’t use it for every single seam because it is time consuming, but for anything precise, it is fantastic. The pen means you use a lot less than spraying the entire piece, and it minimizes distortion from shrinkage when you spray the entire piece. I agree about the Sew Yeah yardage. That is one of the reasons I don’t shop with them. (I also am not really a fan of the Hunger Games approach to fabric buying.) I find the current focus on sew and flips annoying, so where possible, I strip cut angles I and use HSTs, which means I basically have to rewrite that part of the pattern. I use my Accuquilt to cut the shapes I can. If I don’t feel like figuring out the cutting for the lower piece, I just use an Accuquilt cut HST for the upper piece. This is quick, because no fold and press or marking is necessary, just sew the HST onto the corner, flip and trim the bottom triangle. It minimizes the cut-off triangles that I have to deal with later, and my sew and flips are accurate.

I use acorn easy press. On bigger blocks I use it in spray bottle they sell. I use to use the glue, have same small bottle as you, however it dried up in the top part even tho I had it sealed. 😢 So can’t get out of stem. Acorn is 5 out of 5 Thanks Sherry BTW I agree about sew yeah, great idea. However I just spend far too much on destash. I’ve been sending box’s of my Lori Holt Marnae Of Farmhouse Quilting who lost everything in a fire not long ago. She is a Lori fan more than I . Have a great day

I use the acorn pressing solution with stiffer fabrics like grunge. Sometimes those seams can be stubborn😅 S.Y. lives are frustrating to watch for me. It's just easier for me to order from a site(or shop at my LQS) and buy what want all at once and be able to choose the yardage for each fabric in a line. That way I'm not getting fabric that I'm not going to use just because its in a bundle. It's more cost effective as well. Hope Im not offending anyone, everyone has their preferences. 😊

Totally agree! Smart fabric buying should not be offensive to anyone, but yes, some tune in for the chat and end up having a drink or two or three…I MEAN..buying a bundle or three.

TYFS. I do use the Acorn precision piecing when I have multiple seams that come together or when a seam does not want to lie flat after pressing and using the Taylor’s clapper. NO way would I use it on every seam!! It is NOT necessary and a waste of time and money. IMHO. As far as Sew Yeah, I’ve succumbed to watching only the DeStash on Saturday evenings. When I began watching over a year ago, the yardage bundles were fairly bendable, now they seem to be extremely mismatched. Example: 2 nice one piece yards with an atrocious, non blend-able yd or 2 thrown in you’re “stuck with” paying for, that you will NEVER use! (An unsellable yd or 2, in other words!) The reasons you gave regarding the “New stash” sales, are my decisions not to participate in purchasing as well. Many times they are VERY limited bundles and who wants to get stuck with one bundle that will not be enough to do much with, or the inability to find enough to finish the project. When they have the complete line, they usually make it one purchase for an extreme amount, $200.00, $300.00 and upwards! A quick glimpse of an entire line is not justification to be pressured into spending that amount of money😭😵‍💫😭 I believe this is where many of the “Unpaid invoices” come into play. I must say, I do love many of the purchases I’ve made with SY, but I do have yardage of many “rejects” I donate! I know I will never use them and can’t afford them taking up the real estate in my quilting studio. As always, it comes down to “Buyer beware!” 💕💕🧵

Is the Acorn press solution better or the same as Flatter? I got frustrated doing a quilt along from Lori Holt. EVERY video started with a description of her scrap sorting. One would be enough. Also, I asked a question and didn’t get a response. Her tutorials for the blocks was great. I was just frustrated that she felt ok with wasting my time every week-and I think the quilt along was 30 weeks.

Re: Sew Yeah....that's a good idea, but not all lines sell out good, the basics do and that's what they should do, but the others sometimes people don't even want them. I would like them to let you know who the designer and line is as most lives the video is blurry.....

You’re right! That’s where a good sense of what people want comes in. Teancum brags about how quickly he chooses fabric lines, while in reality may not be thinking it through. No disrspect to them, but this is what I see.

I know! Vegas strips are just a $$ gimmick. People are filling their sewing rooms with these and they’re just going to sit there. I would much rather have the equal 4 yards to cut myself.
