Actually an interesting element of the british empire in Africa the british state (tax payers) made a net lost on all its African colonies except South Africa. They all cost more money to occupy than they actually earned in tax revenue. Something that couldn't be said for the corporations who operated in those colonies. Though i did enjoy the video i do object to you referring to the empire as England. Its not the English empire its the british empire, unfortunately the whole UK was very much involved in empire.

His coverage and discussion on this is no different than many of the discussions and coverage he has given nearly all of his other lectures. I think your interpretation of this analysis to this video speaks more to your reaction of having Dr. Shephard on rather than how you feel with the discussion (assuming you liked the discussion he has often with Sean).

No, “woke” is just a colloquial shorthand phrase denoting someone with radical progressive politics, commonly used by libertarians and conservatives. Many left wing extremists used to describe themselves as woke in the early 2010s. To present it as a term used primarily by racists is either ignorant or just disingenuous.
