I honestly don't spend money on silly things. I use it for food and fuel. When I was younger I wanted lots of money and as I got older I stopped worrying about money and material objects. I have a cheap car and live extremely modest in life. I donated almost all the things I had no use for.

@Fighter For Christ fool, orthodox church is the publisher of the bible and existed for more than 200 years before the bible was published. If it was so simple as you claim, why are there over 20,000 denominations of christianity ? Clearly the bible can be interpreted In many ways....and the church hasn't changed in 2000 years, any questions you have about interpretation are answered by the church fathers or the dessert fathers meaning monks who have helped people in the past and whose divinely inspired words have guided countless Christians throughout history, words that guide one to christ and help avoid heresy. It's all about jesus of course but how can you avoid spiritual arrogance when you assume your interpretation of the English translation is correct? Are you unaware of the massive problems false doctrines have caused? Do you not read that jesus says abide in me I am the vine? Jesus says peter is the rock on which he will build his church and the gates of hades shall never prevail against it? It is thanks to god that orthodoxy even exists, but it is purely for our benefit and we should be thankful. Remember all man is sinful but God didnt become man only to allow humans to twist and delude his message unto the point of total confusion...he revealed to us the total truth and will preserve it through the holy spirit, through the church as he promised

Saint Matthew 6:19-21 Lay not up to yourselves treasures on earth: where the rust and moth consume and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up to yourselves treasures in heaven: where neither the rust nor moth doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where thy treasure is, there is thy heart also.

I wonder whether it's not so much the love of money that people get ensnared with, but that it is perhaps the esteem of others that money brings that becomes the trap. Façade for the flesh so to speak!

I guess it would be the obsession and lacking the foresight to know that it is God who gives us the strength to obtain wealth. By not using it in a way that does not contribute or increases the church then sin creeps in. I remember the oracle of the young man who asked Jesus god master what must I do to inherit eternal life and then proceeds to say he observed the 10 commandments. He was then told to give it away and come follow the Lord; he turned away in sadness and it confounded me for a time the meaning of this. I then realized that the young man could not part with any of his wealth though it was God who had granted him that blessing and wanted to further bless him a different way. Sadly the young man turned away. It is scary what may take hold of the hearts of men and keep them from truly being blessed. Always pray without ceasing as the Bible says.

@Fighter For Christ I've read the Bible. I've also studied up on church history, and the early Christians, and their practices and beliefs. I prayed about this situation and asked God for guidance. And praise be to Him, because I left Protestantism for Orthodoxy. The problem with Protestants is that you guys think you know everything. Which is why you hold to the belief that anyone can interpret the Bible for themselves. You attack the Catholics for having a pope when you make yourselves popes. The arrogance. THAT'S the true irony.

I have savings, I don't live like it, I rarely carry over 50 dollars at any given time... My thoughts about it are this, it is a necessary thing. It is my servant and does not rule over me. I tell my co workers to save, so they can have when work slows down or if they want to take a week or 2 off, they can. They live check to check truly, with holes in their money bags and do not consider why. I know things don't bring me joy. Only God brings me that but he has given me a good job and a mind to save. If we collapse the economy in still me. At least I'll have toilet paper haha. Thanks for the knowledge and videos❤️👍

If money were merely a means of transaction between one and another (a decentralised token of work done) then your dire sermon is true .... but it's much worse than this, it's much worse than the fate of the individual. Money is deeply centralised and controlled, with little escape. Fiat currency is debt based ... money is poverty. One who uses money produces poverty ... I use money as we all do.
