If I could give you 100 thumbs up or a million stars I would. We have had this cleaner for a few years and my wife "read the directions" and it has been all hers. The last 2 times she has complained like no other that the suction is not working. I took it apart, checked and found nothing wrong. Thank you so much for your detailed video...Really helpful in order to replace pump. My pump is constantly draining the water without pulling trigger. Any suggestions? Thanks 👍😊
@monroevac3 жыл бұрын
Ok this tip a process of elimination. Try removing the handle from the unit. There should be a screw in the back of the handle near the tank. remove the screw, then remove the clean water tank and notice a soft spot. Use a pen or screw drivers do push the soft spot and pull the handle out. After removing handle place the clean water tank with water in it back on the unit. If the water doesn’t spill out then the problem is the handle. If it does then there is a problem with the auto receiver or leak in a hose. Keep me posted.
@RajeshKumar-zo3ej3 жыл бұрын
@@monroevac Thanks for your response. I already tried first one and concluded it's not the handle. As soon as I put the clean water tank on the unit, water starts leaking. When I remove the rubber pipe from the pump and put the water tank ...I can see water coming out of pump. Not sure it's the pump issue or the one you're talking about the receiver. Please suggest.

@@monroevac Thank you for your next video....when i opened the top cover to see how the 1st receiver works with the handle trigger. I noticed two pipe going down. One pipe which controls the water flow through Trigger and second one does not have any control over the water. Same pipe connects to the down pump. When i place the tank on the unit, second pipe starts draining water through pump. So It could be first receiver or the pump. Not working as intended. Can you please suggest anything?🙏

Yes I believe you can I use to do that test with the older proheat- but leave the pump in place and disconnect the hose from the section that coming out of the main body and feed the water in that way. This way you can see if the pump operates under normal conditions

Thanks for the video, I followed your instruction on replacing the pump belt, but after replacing it the belt broke again after running it for less than a minute. I noticed that the motor gear turns freely but the pump gear does not. I think this is what caused the new belt to break so I think I need to replace the pump. Does that seem correct to you? I have the 1986 model. I'll order the new belt and pump through your links. Thanks Rich

When I put the gear belt back on the brush it does not roll. Is it because mine looks like it has rust and that is what keeps it from rolling? Or did I just put it back on wrong maybe? Just need a tip before I take it apart again. Thank you in advance.
@monroevac Жыл бұрын
Rust can prevent it from turning but you can test it by turning the shaft (with the red ball) and also try turning the brush. If they are stiff then they may need replacing. Also check your pump belt

Hi! Happy New Year, 2022! Somehow your video came up for me. I have a Bissell Revolution Pet Pro model 1986. I actually have barely had it for about 6 months. What has happened is the brushes don’t roll when I release the position to clean, from upright. If I have it in the locked upright position and leaning it back I can see the brushes are spinning. I checked the belts and they are not broken. It does spray and suction fluid. I have only used this cleaner a couple of times. I have emailed support (just today). You are so detailed about showing what to do about the pump that I am wondering if you would know why the brushes don’t spin in the working position. I think it’s pretty decent of you to be willing to help people with their machines issues. Very much appreciated. The Bissell manual doesn’t even discuss the brushes spinning, except in a small section of attachment of the hose and accessories in that the brushes will continue to spin (and to say do not leave it in that position long to avoid damage to the floor surface. It seems odd that the brushes would continue to spin in that regard. I would have thought by attachment of the hose it would disable the brushes. The KZbin support videos discuss how to change the belts, but I still haven’t found any issue like I am having. I like the way you painted one of your models. My mom had a Kirby. Really heavy. Since I was the one who kept house I was the main driver for it. They don’t make things like that anymore. I have no idea what she did with it either. 🐲

There's simply no mechanism for disengaging the notched belt that connects the pump motor to the brushes. When the machine is on, the brushes spin.

Great video but when I try to get the right side plastic part off, it just won't come off. It would have been nice to show us how those clips work on the back part of that silver top piece. I don't want to break my clips, and I have already use a ton of force on it already. I just need to see how that clip attaches in the back area to know better how to pry it up with out working against the clips hooking direction. You made that part look very easy, but in my case, it just won't dislodge. Everything else in the video is super great. Edit: Hot diggity dog, I didn't end up having to go into the pump after all. All those tiny little final nozzle ports on the removable plastic piece were all visibly plugged up with some black sludge. I soaked the the whole thing in a tub of water outside for half hour or so and then used a twisty tie from a loaf of bread to clean out each output nozzle port. Just use a lighter to melt off the plastic stuff from one end of the twisty tie to make the perfect tool for cleaning out those jet ports. Works like new again.

My used Bessel revolution pet has lost its cap for hose assembly. Would that stop sucking into dirty bottle ?
@monroevac3 жыл бұрын
which cap? if it's the cover/cap that is located in the nozzle, then yes.. To test this...try covering the opening..possibly with tape to see if the suction returns. if the cap you are referring to is on the hose end that you hold when when using the upholstery tool ....then it would only impact the suction when using the hose and not the floor
