Then one day, he finally lost it when whatever monster broke his sword and claimed his eye. Cat's a fucking beast tho, gone from the fronts and learnt to cook from scratch to man the kitchen, even calls you scrawny lmao. Like literally all the first fleet members repeatedly talk about retirement "when I finally get this done", they're just trying to keep themselves going but you can see the fatigue, except the tracker, she's just a crazy old lady who probably has a fixation with the cycle of life and death in the rotten valley.

Why is his voice so high? The Meowscular Chef’s supposed to be a deep baritone. It’s not like this is would have been remotely difficult to pull off. And for that matter why’s he so poorly groomed? He’s a chef, he should take that more seriously-the Grandmeowster would have his hide.

I prefer the cats voice as is. A deeper more growly vocalization would not be endearing or even funny. This way is. As to his scruffy appearance, the crew of the sand ship are not unlike pirates, I wouldn’t expect a dapper chef cat to be among them. Again, they made the right choice in Palicos appearance. I work in a theater, and patrons seem to really like him.

@@DireNemesis one artist’s rendition over another’s. In this case the creators of this film have set the bar for the film depiction of this character. Might I add it’s a very successful and popular characterization. If some fans don’t like it, they don’t need to patronize the film and they can hope for a different filmmaker to make a version more in keeping with their expectations. But don’t hold your breath. You can’t always get what you want. Also, the “source” is often at odds with the artistic vision of those who buy the rights to make a film. (In some cases an attempt to follow the source was considered and discarded because it doesn’t work,which might have been the case in this film. They may have tried a deeper voice for Palico and decided that it didn’t work) The film by Stanley Kubrick “the Shinning” for example was a BIG disappointment to Stephen King. Despite its success. So Stephen King just had to make his own version of his book with a televised version of the Shinning that more closely followed his source material, his vision. Look it up, it was a big failure and an embarrassment. The point being, the source isn’t always the best example to follow too closely. Not only did Stanley Kubrick not respect the source (authors version), he openly mocked it in allegory in the film. Kubrick knew his medium, (film)King did not. I believe the same applies here.

The beasts in this movie was good, that while watching the movie and the camera shoots up POV I felt like I was playing the game. My only problem is putting the lead in the modern timeline, to me it would work if she came from 1940 or 50's era where she's some kind of an archaeologists. Would be cool to see a B2 stratofortress taking g on Rathalos. They should correct it in the sequel.
