The data they collect must show that they are either relevant or need additional marketing (via the parks). Brayden makes a great point about those offices behind Animation Courtyard taking up prime theme park expansion space. Disney needs to prioritize moving those offices asap so that they can do something useful with that space in the future. I think it is unlikely we will see Disney build another theme park in Florida (otherwise it would be happening NOW), so expansion will be the only way to go in the future. But they need to start thinking about that/working on that now.

The only problem with this, is that theater is really small. The guests in there sit on benches, and there'd be no room for any of the preshow... they'd have to do some major renovations of the building, and I don't see current Disney doing that

Then saying oh we're just moving them over to RRC, thats not the same freaking thing. Especially since none of them barely begin to understand what made the muppets popular or good. Disney World has a lot less build-able land than many would assume. One a lot of it is marsh/swamp land or federally protected land, as Disney has to set around 40% of available land aside for conservation as an agreement with the state. That conservation alone really limits space, for taking any land Disney needs to put in permits to essentially move around what land is they are requesting to build on and exchange it with conservation area. That and a lot of land just is not suitable to build on without major ground work and testing, which is a major reason it took them forever to attempt to do anything with the old river country. Or why I assume they are filling in the rivers of America for cars land, as the Villains land expansion is taking the available expansion lot nearby. I do agree that Disney uses a lot of their current build-able land poorly. They also take forever and really make quite a few bafflingly weird or poor decisions. Still I won't pretend I can offer better solutions not knowing the full situation. I do understand wishing they gave more than they are taking though, they have really fallen behind in those regards.

The change over to Rockin Rollercoaster was inevitable, just as it will be for Tower of Terror, these two attractions have licensed IP. I'm sure Disney would rather use their own vast IP to retheme and not have to pay additional money. It seems like there is room in the Rockin Rollercoaster area to add more Muppet attractions, hopefully that is the case!

None of this would be a problem if disney was actually willing to build on all the unused land they have at WDW. Really shows the lack of long term vision and will to invest that has characterised modern disney. If they built more office space on new land, muppets and aerosmith could both stay, and it would help alleviate the park's longstanding lack of rides problem. Build Cars on unused land and they would be able to keep rivers of america. All these short term cost cutting decisions will come back to bite them in the long term. Meanwhile, universal has built an entire new park in an area with much less available land than disney has.

I’m actually excited for this! Sucks to lose Muppetvision and the fantastic Muppets Courtyard but I’m hoping they’ll transform the area around Rockin Rollercoaster and the Lightning McQueen show into a new Muppets Courtyard! And then it gives them time to plan something really phenomenal for Animation Courtyard. Considering its central location to the park it’s really not an area they should rush to fit in a land, but rather wait until they have a proper plan! I was born in '84 so the Muppets were a pillar of my childhood. I'm heartbroken about this, but I'm not at all surprised. Disney has done NOTHING to try and introduce these characters to the last TWO generations of kids. Well, beyond a few half-hearted attempts that were abandoned immediately when they didn't take off. These kids/young adults have no idea who or what the Muppets are, or it's tangential if their millennial/X parents didn't expose them to it to know how great they were. Muppets Courtyard is an outdated waste for two, going on three generations now. So I understand WHY they're doing this. The only thing I'm surprised by is that Muppets Courtyard/3D survived for this long. But what a terrible loss. 😢

I don't think the concept rendering's depiction of the factory (where the coaster is) is literal. It would be a waste of money to build it thematically viewable from all sides (e.g., the parking lot). I suspect it will be a boxy show building (like Guardians Cosmic Rewind) with a factory facade pushed forward and visible from the "land", with false-front facade skyline of smoke stacks, etc. in front of the show building.

Monster Inc should’ve gone over at animation courtyard, plus it connects it to Toy Story (Pixar Land) and Rock n Roller should be a Marvel Coaster and expanded in the back a Marvels Lands. Wish Disney would expand there parks instead of replacing rides.

I think that current management has forgotten the purpose of Disneyland/WDW. It was supposed to be a place that has mostly all rides for EVERYONE to enjoy. They seem to keep wanting to try make it into another Universal Studios. They don't need to compete with Universal because their demographics are different.

hopefully they keep the existing props in the muppet theaters pre show and move them to the rock n roller coaster, there was a lot of screen used props in the pre show line.

I’m not sure, I’m going off of the Disney Parks Blog today where it says it’ll be “a whole new theater show.” That insinuates it’s something new, and the laugh floor hardly fits that bill. We will stay on top of the latest info when the details are released!

I am a huge Muppets fan, have been all my life. I'm sad to lose Muppetvision 3D for sure. But Studios definitely needs more high-capacity attractions like this. I wish they could have put it at Launch Bay, but it is what it is.

And no one has even mentioned Moma Melrose yet. My favorite restaurant in the park. Affordable option compared to other places in the park. Probably be replaced with a character dining experience thats 59 a person. :(

Brayden, I feel like some of the other channels (well one major in particular) really trashed you on your insistence this was replacing Muppets, saying you were plain wrong and it was without a doubt being built in the Animation Courtyard. I predict Muppets NEVER move. It would be cheaper to just remove the Aerosmith name and change the music and call it Rockin Roller Coaster. Just watch, Disney will do ANYTHING to save a buck. Look at the Epcot crater development. They removed the beautiful Friendship Fountain and replace it with….

This doesn’t make sense! Why not move the Muppets 3D show to the old Voyage of the Little Mermaid Building where they can give a new refresh loon to it and it works with the little guests with Playhouse Disney across the courtyard. Now making that muppets will not go over well with the families that will think the Rockn Coaster is a family ride. Yes the Monster Inc Land is long overdue but they could have left the Muppets there and built behind it. Disney is scrambling now to prepare for Epic Universe in May taking attendance numbers

They should still revamp the office space and move the office off property. The more rides the better. They could do a nightmare area , a real cars land with a trackless ride like rise and mickey. Plus a roller coaster and some other stuff. Cars was such a big franchise for Disney it needs some stuff ,
