i was sitting outside of a library studying for my last year of high school. i was so sad thinking about my marks. then i see her walk past and i turned to my friend and whispered "what the fuck is that montaigne" and i met her. she was the most beautiful and sweetest soul, exactly the kind of person you'd expect to make music as special as hers. montaigne is a blessing

2014/15 were such great years, I'd just got my driver's license and cruising around all the time, radio tuned exclusively to Triple J and discovering Montaigne, Cortney Barnett, Angus and Julia Stone and so many others. Hanging out with my bestie all the time, jamming out and covering all those awesome songs from all those amazing artists. They were such simpler and happier times for me... This song just always takes me back to then, with a faint bittersweet feeling, not of sadness that it's now over, but happiness that it was. Thank you Montaigne, for creating this amazing, wonderful, beautiful song, and thank you Triple J for playing it. ❤️

Montaigne god how I wish you could sing this when we vote you to represent Australia at Eurovision 2020 😜 I love how you use your voice, you are very easy to the ears, I've been singing this for days , how have I never heard you before. We are rooting for you to win Australia Decides can't wait to see you perform live this weekend on the Gold Coast xx

Wow, what a fantastic song. Love comes in many forms, from many different kinds of people. But it should never be a tool to force someone to change into someone they don't want to be. Find someone who loves you for who you are, and helps you become the person you want to be. ❤

I do like this song, it has clarity in it's purpose and message, it appeals to a social identity that is very topical at the moment (good example of contemporary art) She has uniqueness to her sound that, although still clearly demonstrates her influences, leaves you with the sense that she is competent with her gifts in her own right. Overall I found it left me with ever swelling emotional response, like just the right amount of chilli in a meal, it leaves that after taste in your mouth that creeps up on you. The Lyric (singular song = one lyric =all the prose\words within a song, poem, or artistic recitation , many songs = lyrics, pet peve of mine how everyone gets their plurals wrong) is in my opinion outstanding. A story as old as time, and a question never answered, Who am I? She knows what she's doing and I look forward to experiencing more.

I had a look of awe on my face through this whole video. Everything about it is so pure and beautiful, and so artistic! What a brilliant way to express a song about who you are on the inside. Perfect example right here, it is not the glam, it is not the lights, it is not the super intense effects. When people have feelings like this, it always has a feeling of all these little things in your soul that paint a huge picture that is bigger than yourself that no one can possibly contain, so having something so simplistically glorious that shows something small that bursts to life into a bigger space (and not even bursting to life in a huge over-the-top way, it bursts to life in a way that makes sense, that we can comprehend) and fills up a room, which I see as something that breaks out because it is too much to be contained, but it is still only one person, so it breaks out within _their_ space, _their_ being, it's just SO meaningful in how it was done! (I'm sorry I'm an editing nerd so I go crazy when I see beautifully artistic music videos XD)
