When you are out on a lake that big, the best words you can hear when drilling a fishing hole are - "That's deep." The trout was gorgeous 👊 Just learned we have Burbot in Lake Michigan. The other thing I learned is that Burbot are part of the Cod family (my favorite white fish). I took my son fishing when he was 4 yo. He caught a 29" rainbow trout here in AZ! Pretty spectacular ✨️ 👌 Way to go Brian! We walk with Christ! Always and forever 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 Single mom's can do it!!❤❤

Me encantan que rico pescado acá mi esposo suele ir a pescar yo voy pero a sebar mate jaja termo y mate y silla playera y a disfrutar se comen bagres ..pati.. algún sabalo.. boga que se pesca en el río uruguay y sus afluentes acá no hay nieve .... Those burnout or scary looking. I I would be afraid to eat them. Now , I adore trout! They are my favorite things to eat. How do you enjoy eating Burbot?

They are called Poormans lobster and they’re super delicious!

From an Alaskan: Yes, eat the burbot and smaller lake trout but please please release the larger lakers as they take a long time to grow to that size and we need them to sustain the lake trout population in that specific lake. Please lord help these folks to understand.

How will you know when the ice will be too thin to go out on it?

If we go too late you have to drill holes and check periodically. You just don’t want to go too late!
