@matthewschneider4758Ай бұрын
Does adding (2) Exhaust fans cause your system to be Negative Pressure then? That's two intakes and 3 exhausts at that point? Unless the Power Supply fan balances it out as an additional intake? Is dust a concern at this point? Do you use a fan controller to balance the fan speeds so the Intakes run faster than the Exhausts so the airflow is more balanced?

theres so many dual chamber cases now that imo its just better to go with one that doesn't cheap out in so many areas like montech, unless going budget was the primary focus, which in that case they are a good choice. if someone is just looking at all dual chambers and trying to decide what to pick, lian li 011 and antec c8 are some of the top performers.

For what it's worth. I just completed a build for my wife with the King 95 Pro, and I have to say that it was a joy to build in. Probably some of the best cable management that I have ever done with how it is setup. There is lots of space to play in, and possibly return to with upgrades in the future. After watching this I am glad she decided on the King 95 because, at least to me, the fact it was able to keep better temps WITH the glass panel on the front means it should get even better when swapped to the mesh and with more fans. Design looks good too. Certainly I would say you could probably get more bang for your buck, but I am happy with this one.
@stephenhood2948Ай бұрын
i love mine. It looks and performs great.
@MaxLan-o4lАй бұрын
Oh actually as shown in the video with the same fan configuration the temps are almost identical. The main reason 65 is underperforming is that it only comes with 3 fans. But yes if you actually care about airflow 95 is the go to, since it comes with mesh front and 6 fans.

First ever time built my own PC and I went with the Blue King 95 Pro with stock fans and 360 radiator AIO for the 7800x3d . Messed up with my powersupply size and was forced to remove the inner panel for hiding cables and I think it helped with thermals a bit, though I did also vertically mount my 7900 XT and I'm not sure how that affects thermals 🧐 I really appreciate y'all doing these vids. Honestly I must've watched and re-watched 20+ of your videos on cases, CPUs and GPUs before making my purchases.

Well shit, I wrote this before getting to the thermal performance. I'm not a bot, I swear!
@kgrachАй бұрын
I found that on the King 95 non-pro, I experienced better performance after removing the back fan and relocating it to the top. Additionally, taking out the swing fan holder and remounting the side fans on the other side panel also improved performance. I really like this case; it's a pleasure to work with. One thing that none of the reviewers, including you, mentioned, is the silicon port dust covers. Also, the swing-out fan mount can be easily removed by pulling up, and the swing-out side fan/drive/cable door is removable by pulling down and out. It's an excellent case for installing a custom loop. The quality for the price and all the little inclusions brought me so much joy. I still remember when a sub $100 case was a health hazard, cutting you with all the sharp edges.

A shame that it either runs hot or runs loud. Color me surprised when it started off as a chart-bottomer but also kinda impressed in a weird way when you normalized the fans and it shot up to match the squircular King 95. @stephenhood2948Ай бұрын
I use an AIO in mine and the bottom intake fans force a lot of air into the GPU, no problems with thermals at all on my King 95. If using an air cooler though I would think having the side fans facing the front would be a must to supply cool air for the CPU cooler.

20 years ago I had a lian li aluminium PC case. Where the entire outer casing and inner metal structure were all made out of aluminium. It was really light compared to other ordinary steel PC cases at that time. I really loved the case, since I spent a good $200+ on it. Where a normal case would cost less than $100. Eventually the trend of pure aluminum cases went away due to high material costs, and that steel cases with tempered glass and nice fishtank designs were selling well even though its priced even higher than the pure aluminium ones. So companies like Lian Li pivoted towards that since its lower costs and higher profit margins.......

Just an odd note for Montech, if they are reading comments, regarding the cable cover door that Steve points to; Instead of punching holes to offset the loss of airflow in order to maintain the structural integrity of the door hinge area (Which is what I assume is going on there) why not simply roll the metal on the hinge side? You could reduce the overlap between the door and the intake fans to almost nothing, while reducing the risk of the door flexing and bending when opened. Rolling it to the inside of the case would keep things looking neat, reduce weight, and most importantly you could remove the need for all those airflow hole, which would likely save a lot on tooling costs. Overall a very nice looking case, particularly for a newer company.
@stennanАй бұрын
Love the banter in the videos. ATX cases like this is a bit too big for my room/desk. mATX around 20-25L is a happy medium. Only weakness most cases in that size have is lack of space/rails for cable management.

I built a PC in the King 95 Pro, it is a huge PC case. Way bigger than what I thought when buying it. Makes it easy to build in and helps with airflow, but takes up a tremendous amount of space. Anyone looking at one should keep this in mind, it is a very large PC case. The cable management in it isnt even a problem though, plenty of room even if using a non modular PSU.

Your comment about fans and how they affect case price was a funny thing but also relevant. It's tricky because you can't always tell if you will like fans until you actually have them. I bought a Lian Li Lancool II case and it came with fans. Which is great. But they made a horrible droning noise, which is NOT great. I had to replace them because I couldn't stand the noise they made. I replaced them with different Lian Li fans, and the replacement fans don't make horrible droning noises, despite both being Lian Li. So the case cost me more after having to add fans, and now I also have extra fans I have no use for nor desire to use. I don't know how to avoid this type of fan lottery without being able to actually experience fans in operation before buying them.

I just gotta say for the Noctua fans: They're 100% justified in SFF. when your case only has 3 fans and your entire build is thermally constrained, having the best static pressure and airflow is a world of difference. in my case I have a 4080 and a Ryzen 8700x on a single 280mm rad open loop, with a 120 supplying the PSU and VRM cooling. going from Corsair Maglev fans to a pair of Noctua IPPC 3000 fans dropped my water temps by 5c idle at the same fan RPM and perceived volume (30-25c @ 20cA), and massively dropped the high end temp down from 50c to being able to keep it at 35-40c depending on fan speed. It was a very noticeable reduction.

From the cases ive used, i found the 95 runs far cooler than traditional designs. By running a 280 AIO in the side (push-pull), intake fans in the bottom, extract top and back, my GPU and CPU runs a lot cooler AND quieter than even an extreme custom loop setup i had in a phanteks case. So i do think there are ifs and buts to this. I get why Steve takes the approach he does - you literally cant create a fair comparison or have the time to test everything. But the layout of these, in my opinion does give the user the potential for huge thermal improvements over a normal case which is pointed out here. Having built in the King 95 a couple times now. I can say it's definitely a $90 case at best. Design wise, it looks really nice. It has a lot of weird quirks, particularly with fan mounting, and some QC issues, screw threads non existent for panels that are supposed to be screwed in so I had to tap the threads myself, that have been present in both models. The plastic panel on the front is super cheap feeling and looking too. When you compare it to the Antec C8, any of Lian Li's O11 models, or other cheap dual chamber designs, it's really only worth it if you plan on buying the King 95 at $90 and then adding inexpensive fans like the Thermalright TL-C12 or the Arctic P12. It's clear they didn't want to compete with the bigger players so they cut a lot of corners to underprice them but they aren't exactly offering any better value, just a lower entry price. This is even more true with the sales that happen more regularly on Lian Li, Antec, Corsair, and NZXT models. I really wish they had polished it up, swapped the front panel to steel, and charged $20 more or so. It's a good case, just don't think it's some crazy deal or punching way above it's weight class. The King 65 looks like it's not noticeably better than all the other $60 knockoffs on amazon yet costs almost twice as much.

Really want to see the Montech XR. It's a 50 buck fish tank, with 3 ARGB fans. Decent additional fan support too.

I am ordering the King 95 Ultra and plan to get rid of that back door/inner panel when I build in it. I am leave the fans on the back wall and don’t see a need for that other panel in my case. If I was going to swing the fans to the front and add more then I can see needing it.

I'm not sure if this was a crowd sourced thumbnail or it just picked it at random, but the thumnail that the De-arrow KZbin extention showed was Steve pointing at the Squircazoid. Perfect thumbnail random or no.🤣

would've bought the king 65 if it had been out during august, went for the zalman p30 instead

I like that both are cheaper and feel sturdier than the Corsair 6500!

i was thinking for those 14/12cm fan rail, they should just put the 12cm deeper than the 14cm , adding bend, this way if you use the 14cm, the fan is not again the 12cm as there is some space so it would impact air flow less than if they are on the same plane. interesting case and really interesting review as usual

I’m hoping y’all will review the new be quiet! Light Base 600! I’m in the market for a new chassis and it’s really caught my eye! 😄
