Frederick Ashton was a genius, every steps is in accordance with the music and the story This is a real masterpiece, it almost speaks, one can hear the voices, pity it is not available on DVD Thank God ABT is resurrecting this ballet this year in NYC

The most magical moment in this ballet is Sir Anthony Dowell's solo dance to Chopin's piano 0:01 - 1:15 at the opening part of this clip. It takes my breath away with his seamless graceful movement, elegance and naturalism. It is a pity that this beautiful ballet is not yet available on DVD.

I think that's why (the exact full minute) I truly fell for his dancing 😍 So natural, so bashful yet so lively.

This ballet is a real classic and beautifully designed by the late Julia Trevelyn -Oman who also designed a Royal Opera production of Die Fledermaus which is also beautiful
