From the intro, I thought it'd be the prequel to The Cough. I was a bit saddened that that wasn't the case, since we hear that literally everypony frickin died, but I absolutely LOVED this story! Very well written, and a nice addition to my favorite episode! (Any Walking Dead fans here? :3)

I found several flaws with this fanfiction but the biggest one was... Why didn't Twilight contact Celestia? Dude.. That's the first thing Twilight does when she doesn't know what to do. Also the hospital staff wouldn't discharge someone who was bleeding from the eyes and coughing blood 😂 Great reading though! I'm really enjoying the readings on your channel :)

Plus, in the midst of utter chaos and having to kill two of her friends put a heavy toll on Twilight, pushing her to the point of defeat. She would've regained her sanity, but like I stated, going to Celestia would've only spread the disease faster and put Celestia in danger

Apple Dash Yes and no. The disease isn't spread from pony to pony, seeing it is an airborne disease, so only ponies exposed to the smell of the disease are affected. The idea didn't originate from The Cough, even though I had listened to the story. The idea for it came from my own ideas, because I am one of the few people who actually liked the episode this is based on, and figured I'd add my own dark twist to the ending of the episode.

I prefer to keep the mystery behind something like an epidemic a mystery, because that just adds more of a suspenseful feeling to the whole thing. The unknown is the greatest fear, so leaving it with no explanation, rather than knowing that the joke cookies had something in them that, when released, caused a plague upon Equestria, is better than giving an explanation

This is a bit of a nitpick, but whatever was in the filling would be a poison, and theoretically not a virus or a bacteria, so I don't think it could spread quite like it does. Unless of course, someone had preemptively put said bacteria or virus in the cookies.... food for thought.

One question I have is what caused the joke cookies to become bad and cause the epidemic. Poisoning sabotage or nuclear spill. I have no idea all I know is that it has cyanide because of the twilight transmissions

The alternate ending should have been everypony who had heard of the cookie virus in ponyville, would start to panic, but not before long an imagery pony Mr will designed the great ark train called the viruspiercer. Everypony started to abandon their homes and climbed onto the train including twilight herself, as soon as everypony board the train the town was empty, and the train departed. Now the train is forced to circle Equestria until the virus is gone

A big flaw I had with this story was why didn't anypony wear masks? Surely twilight could've cast a protective spell around herself, or they could've worn protective gear. This story only works if you forget that preventive measures exist in an epidemic case. Surely some parts of Ponyville would be cookie free? I am sorry if I'm overly critical. I did enjoy listening to your reading of the story, and with some reworking this story could be a strong grimdarks. Just needs a few tweaks and it would be nearly perfect.

The story was a good idea but went off the rails after AJ and Twilight discovered the cookies in the barn. Everything before that point was fine but afterwords it was just rushing to get to the bloody horror part. It could use some tweaks. The sequel story with Twilights Transmissions is way better.
