Based on Jeff Sagain College Football computer ranking, every single team in the Big 12, every single one of them, played a tougher Strength of Scheduler than: SMU, Clemson, or Boise State. And ESPN Football Power says the same thing for except for Clemson who has 3 losses. So either way, the Big 12 Champion ( ASU or ISU ) should get, not the 4th Spot Bye, but the 3rd Spot Bye.

3 loss (regular season) SEC over 2 loss ACC all day. SMU will definitely be the biggest test with "not punishing a team" for losing their conference championship.
