Mooi dat je hier laat zien dat je op verschillende manieren hetzelfde of verschillend resultaat kunt krijgen. Het is maar net wat je wilt bereiken. Bedankt voor deze video Rico.

Nicely done! There are so many ways to give the sky a dramatic look, and I think this covered a lot of them! This should help a lot of people!

@@RicoResolves yes, I've been running Linux on my computer now about 10 months and I never want to go back to Windows. I am trying to learn how to use Darktable after using Lightroom for years. I'm finding Darktable to be a powerful editor but very different in the way you do things in Lightroom.
@RicoResolves5 жыл бұрын
@@russghound it absolutely is different than Lightroom. The algorithm is too. What I try to do with my tutorials is show people how to get lightroom results in darktable. So the switch will be easier and it'll save people money! My tutorials are 99% of the time about creative processes.

@@RicoResolves I will keep an eye on your channel for videos that I find will help me convert from the Lightroom way of doing things.

6:11 how do you get that drop down menu with those lines? somehow I cannot see that way to set the value

Click the right mouse button on the percentage. That way you can add in the values manually :)

Or.. single click to select whole sky in light room :) save 20 minutes :) I wish darktable had this feature. Same to select the subjects, like people, dog, cats, and other animals.. I managed to handle maybe 50 photos in 15 minutes with lightroom. And it's not an AD. I am just a user. With dark room I spent 2 hours, following this and other video and could not finish even single photo. Yet with lightroom I haven't watched any video. I guess dark table is too professional

Darktable is different, but not too progressional. It's just not the same as lightroom and never intended to be

Rico, your videos are really useful to a slow learner like me trying to ascend the learning curve for darktable, but ... your opening statement on every video sounds like "What’sgoingoneverybodymynameisRicoandwelcomebacktomychannelForthoseofyouthatarenewheremychannelisabout..." and so on.Honestly, my ears don't work that fast. I've looked closely at the videos and detect no trace of smoke at any point, so your recording studio is not on fire. I don't believe your recordings sessions are always up against a scheduled sports broadcast on TV. You look look far too young to need to rush away to the toilet every few minutes. So why the frenetic pace of the videos? Do you rent studio space by the second? darktable is not a straightforward application; there are reasons why there are these many modules available and why they have such abstruse parameters but you don't spend any time explaining why a certain module should be used in a given circumstance, nor how or why the parameters are set. Rapid movement of the pointer, possible on your obviously highly specified PC with 4K monitor (read "tiny pixels"), is not at all easy to follow on my low-spec 1080p monitor, especially after all the compression/modification steps this image data goes through from your monitor, through your recording system, into and out of KZbin and finally to my monitor. As a result I have to spin back and forth through parts of your video multiple times trying to understand what you have just done, how you did it and why. 10 seconds of your video can easily take 10 minutes to understand when trying things out on my own darktable in parallel. This is not an efficient use of my time, which, at my age, is being consumer at a far higher percentage of my remaining life-time than it is at your age. So can you spend a bit more of your time and deliver these videos as if your pants are not on fire?

Thank you for your extensive feedback. I appreciate it. I do suffer from IBS, but that's a whole different story ;). Have you seen my latest video series called: "no time wasted learning darktable"? In that series I explain the modules. Your thoughts on more explanation on the modules has been addressed in my latest few videos as well. I've mentioned that I noticed I was just doing stuff rather than explaining it, and how I wanted to change that. Let me know if those address your issues :).
