The glass/liquid in "When the party's over" i think represents all the hurt someone takes from a toxic relationship and when she drinks it and it starts leaking everywhere it is showing that she has reached her limit and cant hold it in any more. My Name Is Dream I think she said it didn’t mean much anymore because she had sung it so many times so the meaning just starts to mean less the more you are hearing it and singing it. Because she was listening to a cover and she said she could feel the song and the meaning when that girl sang it. Probably because that girl had a different voice and it sounded different. I don’t think the song is bs at all. It may not mean anything to some people but it can mean a lot to others. Need to check out audio of xanny. If you listened to complete album - when we all go to sleep... She suggests transition from start to finish. I did and it's pleasant surprise lol. Totally different to the main stream. I want to adopt her . I truly hope her generation which is the same as my daughters listens. She doesn't wear normal industry female clothes( they didn't change her) she doesn't drink, smoke or use drugs( or sing about it in every song and or promote) she is very creative so expresses herself in writing her songs with her brother Finneas. They don't typically use an outside studio only one in her brother's room( exception I heard was his 21 St birthday.) She is seventeen was home schooled so they were given time to be creative( I homeschool my daughter who is artist mostly digital and cosplay) she has tourettes syndrome ( and even though an interview exposed her accidentally and memes made in videos ( she feels good about it now because she has helped others feel " normal" that live with it.) So excited when I got this notification! Rushed right over! Bad guy is my new favorite but my all-time fav has to be bury a friend. It was the first music video I literally bought since Airplanes by B.O.B and Hayley Williams. I loved the imagery (She is a massive horror fan if you can't tell.) People have already pointed out some of the meanings in the video for bury a friend. I looked it up on genius when I first heard it/saw the video. When she is asking why do you care for me? It is from the perspective of that monster under our beds that never really goes away. And that monster is asking HER (or our own monster is asking us) Why do you care for me but not so much caring like compassion but more like a gardner caring for a garden. Feeding those plants, pruning them, making sure they thrive. The monster is asking why do you care for me when I am so bad for you? And that monster is different for everyone. For me its my anxiety and PTSD. I feed it like a vine that is choking the life outta me. Getting better at not letting it thrive but its a hard thing to do. Dope reaction man. Much love!!

Bury a friend was written to be the "monster" under your bed or the demons you have insides perspective. Like she wants to end her self but where do the demons and monsters go when you get rid of them? Do they actually go away or get buried deeper? When the parties over is about consumption and addiction. It's not about drugs or alchohol. People get lost in other people knowing they aren't good for each other but the love you have for that person is stronger and you make a sacrifice to let that person consume you completely until theres not a single part of yourself left. Bad guy she just wanted to piss random people off lol i love her and her style. She is a deeper writer than people give her credit for. All her visuals mean something so deep that unless you have been there it's hard to understand. She is todays edgar allen poe for sure. Listen deeper.

Just happened to see Billie and her brother Finneas doing a couple of songs live on Howard Stern and thought that it is some of the most original music I had heard since Alanis Morissette. Billie somehow draws out these emotions that had been sleeping or whatever and I love it. I think her brother has a LOT to do with the sound and lyrics. He is the producer and what a job he is doing. I watch a few reaction videos just to see if others are reacting as I am and that is how I stumbled upon yours and I enjoy what you are doing a lot. You have a very likable and genuine style. Like ppl have said in previous comments, her and her brother Finneas write all her songs and produce the music, they’re extremely talented! You should watch some of her interviews to have a better understanding of how her mind works and how or why she comes up with ideas for her videos.
