Honestly one of the most attractive things about this is the size. I’m an artist moving into a mobile camper recording studio for touring and obviously mobile recording. I’m going to miss my Subsequent 37, which has always been my main synth, as well as my vintage Crumar Performer, but this is incredible because it’s most of the Sub 37 but just way smaller. I couldn’t bring my sub 37 with me in the camper, so I tried a prophet rev2, but that’s a bit big also, and it just isn’t a Moog. The Sub 25 is absolutely perfect.
@ColossalView Жыл бұрын
I recently purchased the Subsequent 25 and use it in addition to my Matriarch. It’s a great synth for anyone who’s first trying out an analog synth, and all the way to more experienced synth users looking for new synth voices to add to their setup. Hats off to Moog for making this one for sure.

I had a Sub Phatty, sold recently, but man, I'll never buy a Moog synth again! I respect Moog's history and sound but nowadays there's many control quality issues. The day I sold the Sub Phatty, after taking the dust cover to experiment if everything was ok I notice the side panels were all sticky and melting?? What kind of rubber/plastic are they using?? So I had to cut the price, then the buyer notice one octave selector was not working, so I cut the price again! Since I bought the Sub Phatty (new) it was always at home and with dust cover, no direct sunlight, room temperature with small variation, so I don't understand a product that is made in USA? Ah, and this is not a one case problem, they all have these problems sooner or later, well this new one with wood panels will not have the melting problem for sure. I just want cheap synths now!
@fudashimayne66332 жыл бұрын
The rubberized plastic melting isn't specifically a Moog problem, but a Mid-2000's problem. There are so many synths and electronics in general that used that shit. I have a behringer fx2000 virtualizer 3-d rack unit and i had an alesis micron and an arturia beatstep, all used that goddamn shitty stuff. The knobs on my virtualizer fx unit look like theyve been in a fire because i used goof off on them to clean/remove the rubberized part, idk if they ever did degradation tests to see when it would break down but it is one of the worst ideas since lead in paint chips.

Hey there, I'm the Sub25 calibrator at Moog Music. The new 25 is voiced exactly like the 37 so its much more clean and crystalline in its sound, whereas the Phatty had lower headroom within the circuit, causing it to compress or "fatten up" earlier. The phatty also wasn't duophonic, and our presets are all completely new for this model.

@@JonathanMPriceMusic I hope Moog do the honourable thing and provide a firmware update to make the Sub Phatty Duophonic. Amos Gaines has previously confirmed that it is possible. It would demonstrate that they at least still care about their existing Sub Phatty owners who have invested in the product and the company over the years. I actually contacted Moog Support about this and got the following response: ''Hey Gordon, I do not see why we wouldn't do this. It might take some time due to firmware engineers focusing on other updates. But I will pass the message along and see if we can get the ball rolling soon. I'm sorry I don't have a solid answer for you today, but as a Sub Phatty owner myself, I'll be pushing for this update!! Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with. This product makes no sense. If you want a Moog, the supposed Rolls Royce of synths, why would you want a really shitty, basic one? Either get a Sub 37 or Re-Issue D or just get a Behringer D or Poly D - this thing makes no logical or financial sense...for probably 50% extra than the Poly D, you're getting half as much Moog style synth....I would just save up for the Subsequent 37, but if I absolutely could not afford it,I would rather take the 4 osc. 37 key Poly D with its chorus, distortion, stereo output and chord mode than this 2osc 25 key mono synth, which is basically Moog's attempt at a more basic Novation Bass Station or Minibrute in a severely cut down Sub37 style package... Sad thing is if you want to be a brand snob you can write "made with a real analogue Moog" on any track you made with this, but a 250 bucks Behringer D will sound more like a proper, classic, vintage, phat, creamy, 3 oscillator Moog...
