GOD I have SO MANY THINGS TO SAY- First of all, the scene where Snufkin climbs up to check on Moomin parallels the scene where Moomin climbs up to meet Snufkin earlier in the episode and it KILLS me every time. Because like. Their roles reverse again and I just. Ugh. And second of all, ALL OF THE SHIT ON THE LEDGE. GAY AS ALL FUCK. Like, Snufkin admitting that he thinks about Moomin when he’s alone during Winter, but then BACKTRACKING because while what he said on it’s own isn’t really anything revealing, Snufkin damn well knows that when he says that, there is a very romantic context. And the way how when he and Moomin both drift off the conversation, Snufkin barely gets out the word, “Moomintroll” before Moomin is saying “yes” in THE most LOVESTRUCK voice I’ve EVER heard. I don’t think Moomin even talks to SNORKMAIDEN like that. Anyways, I’m mildly convinced Snufkin was about to confess his feelings because he probably kind of thought they were going to die, which is fair. AND FINALLY; THAT DAMN ENDING. Look I am CONVINCED that Snufkin was making it up. He’s DONE IT BEFORE, not to mention we never see Moomintroll go back, and if he HAD stayed, they DEFINITELY would’ve spent more time on it. And maybe this is doesn’t make sense or I’m just stating the obvious, but in my defence, my memory is very foggy and useless. Anyways uh. Honestly I really hope that this isn’t some massive queerbait or everything stays in subtext. I think I’d cry for a week and then die

Okay, first coming into the Moomin community one of the first things I saw was people shipping Snufmin and my initial reaction was "Okay I guess I could see that" but after watching these I am now wondering how this isn't official canon. It's just so obvious. I have truly never seen gayer characters than Snufkin and Moomin.

Me and my best friend wouldn’t have trouble adnmitting that, we do think about each other a lot, so there’s no reason for snufkin to be like “uh I mean I think about all of my friends not just you” unless there’s something else

I don’t think so. Upon rewatching the whole episode I realised Snufkin seeing the wood thing Moomintroll made of them near the end implied he called Moomin back. So no, I don’t think he was imagining it :)

You're forgetting the part where in episode 5, Moomintroll ends up in jail by mistake where he plays with -what seems to be- snufkin's harmonica, claiming it was for practicing. That basically means they placed both their own mouths on the same place for an extended period of time xd. It's funny to think of

I think he just tried to say "I really do care about you (even if sometimes I need to stay alone)" He's going through his character developement and he's trying to be more sympathetic with others, while Moomintroll at the end of the episode/series seems to fully accept his need for freedom

thing is you have to use the context clues(lame). listen to the emotions being displayed through the voice acting, and the build up to what he was about to say. he wouldnt have said he just wanted to be left alone after all of that, especially after the way moomin said “yes?” so eagerly. that would be some shitty writing right there. and why would they cut it off? if they were to have a line like that they would have to actually leave it in, there would be no reason for the cutoff. its a cliche they use to cut off love confessions at the worst time and it frustrates both the characters. i can assure you it would have either been a love confession or “i care about you” moment. leaning more to the second one i dont think they’re gonna have explicit love confessions like that in this show

Wait so I'm confused. At the end when Snufkin is sitting with Moomin on the mountain looking up at the sky (well Snufkin is at least) is that another one of Snufkin's hallucinations or is Moomin actually there with him?? I thought it was another one of his hallucinations since it showed Moomin leaving with his family, am I wrong???

In the books Snufkin says "Yip yip" several times (i remember it from "Moominsmmer Madness") - It's a cheery way to say "Righty-o"
