During the thing with the hallway tilting, there were sounds like a sailing ship. I suspect that they are actually on board the funeral barge travelling to the Egyptian afterlife, thus the appearance of the Hippo goddess at the end. Rather than gaslighting, I think the mental hospital might actually be part of a memory of Marc's, mixed with elements of his life (since in some of the comics Marc had been in a mental ward).

Moon Knight is even more trippy than Loki man. Yikes. Taweret was my favourite part of this episode. Loved her ever since I read The Kane Chronicles lol. And oh gosh you guys make me laugh so much 🤣🤣🤣 But the story isn't that it's all fake...thankfully. I just think Marc and Steven are in the Duat now...aka the Egyptian Underworld.

Well i think the reason they did the part at the end Adam is because in the comics, they do things a lot and then make it out to be just a part of Marc's Mental issues. To the point where the comics are very unpredictable which honestly makes it great! And i understand what you are saying about it being done to "throw off" viewers but in this instance it was way cooler than you think! 100% with Adam on not liking the "ooh was it all not real maybe?" thing as a trope and I would have been disappointed if they'd done that for a whole episode. But I do like what they did here, it pretty quickly became too dreamlike for me to buy it as being really real and I could just enjoy it. 😆 I did "aww!" out loud at Marc & Steven hugging. The two of them interacting is the best thing about this (really good) show and I hope we get a bit more of this next week. And I love Layla more and more each week (she really does have Rachel-Weisz-in-The-Mummy vibes and it's amazing). Moon Squad FTW!!

if you wanna talk about all the alters just as a whole, "system" is the correct term (though most people just refer to the collective system as just moon knight, since in the comics all of them at one point or another have worked as moon knight)

8:40 I have a better idea. Hand off the series. Learn from what Marvel Studios did with Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Do a limited series on Disney+ where you spend 6 episodes with Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones handing off to a successor. One that is insanely well-written and that the audience absolutely falls in love with. I would say to end with him dying and his successor taking on the nickname Indiana in his honor, but that would decanonize the 98-year-old Indy narrating the adventuees in the Young Indiana Jones series. Maybe have his retire. Maybe have them use another name. Whatever works. They've certainly accomplished heavier storytelling lifts with the Marvel stuff in recent history. I honestly don't think they should recast and I don't think they should keep dragging Harrison Ford out to do more of these movies. At least not in the leading role. Supporting role for the new lead would be good occasionally. Maybe Creed this thing. I just feel like going down either of those roads (recasting Indy or continuing with Harrison Ford) leads to nothing but diminishing returns from this point.

So heres my assessment of Jake (3rd Alter). The show has set him up, if you notice the pieces, as being the killer of Layla's father. Marc mentions he didnt kill him but that he was there and his partner killed everyone (which i think he means Jake). The only part im not 100% about is why would Jake shoot himself (Marc). Im not sure but as they show the 3rd alter as the one who kills and Marc saying it wasnt him who killed Layla's Dad. Im almost certain its Jake who did it when everything is revealed.🤔

I think He'll be "Jake" in name only and have a lot of Raul Bushman qualities about him , Bushman was such a huge part of Marc's origins but yet he is not going to be in this show , i really think the 3rd Alter will be a blood thirsty Raul Bushman type but just will still be called "Jake"...basically MCU combining characters again which they do pretty often

After this episode, we had to reevaluate Marc's symptoms. Again, every system is different. And as such, people will try to GateKeep Marc's plurality. Now on to the world building. The OtherVoid exists between Dreams and Reality, mind and matter. As such, it can intersect with imagination. Marc's Inner World is a mixture of his memories of being institutionalized by his parents at a young age for the side symptoms of his DID, (which the imaginary copy of Harrow lists,) and recent memories. The mixture is something that happens when a system starts to try to create false memories and put walls back up between the alters. Thankfully, Marc was self-aware enough to reject the false memories, but not alot of us are. When the walls went up for us, we had to fight our own brain to get the original memories back without the alterations that popped in. Since the Inner World is an imaginative tool that can allow alters to interact with one another and shift more easily, that means that an Avatar of a god can use it to access the OtherVoid, and interact with other gods, like Twaret, (the fertility goddess who interacted at the end of the episode.) Jake is the Assasin/Spymaster (based off of the more brutal noir detective incarnation of Batman.) Since the comics retcon, the suits are now associated with the human alters, instead of being new alters themselves. As such, Jake's suit has never been seen in the Comics, meaning the MCU might have the debut of an original suit for Jake, which I'm personally excited for.

Love your reactions, guys. I was catching up on Phase Four and just watched this episode like an hour ago. Now I'm just watching reactions and your channel is in the rotation. A group of alters in a body who has DID is called system, or at least that's what the systems that I've watched like to call themselves. By the way this show is by no means an accurate representation of DID but is a closer representation than all the movies and TV shows that tried to portray DID/OSDD in the past like Multiple, Psycho, or SPOILER FOR A 23 YEAR-OLD MOVIE Fight Club)

To refer to Marc+Steven+Jake the word would be *sistem*, Adam. Excellent episode. Exceptional show. Best reactions. Phase Four is definitely weaving together something big, but in such a subtle way that the various threads can be admired in their own right. Is it just me, or is the theme of Time becoming more prominent: Konshu saying, "tick-tock, Marc"; "I remember _every_ night" before literally rewinding the night sky; the ticking clock within the first few seconds of the Institution scene (and is it my imagination or was that music hook reminiscent of the TVA theme from Loki? - also, Loki is a pantheistic god who finds himself in a... ahem... world between worlds (SW/Marvel crossover confirmed!)); the whole story is framed as a 'ticking-clock' plot (mixed with a 'race to the finish line'). I'm sure there are other layers... I'm undecided whether the Institution represents Moon Squad in Duat (Egyptian underworld), or the state of imprisonment implied by the reliquary shown at the start of the ep. (coz, symmetry/ Chekov's Gun), where Konshu was placed together with some other petrified gods (possibly including Taweret?).

Yeeeaahhh. The whole "it's just a dream" thing was going to suck.... but.... I feel Marvel is acutely aware of that and used it to evoke that very emotion you expressed... anger, and even resentment. Only to flip you on your head again with the sudden appearance of an Egyptian goddess. It's masterful emotional manipulation, at its best. PS the cookie crisp thing is still dumb. Lol. But...ok I'll just have to suffer through it because I DO enjoy yalls content.
