Holding down both buttons switches to a low gain (Red light) or high gain (Green light) No relation to file type with light that i can find. Cayin RU6 actually has more steps and gets much louder but beyond and at 77dB the Moondrop sounds like the better unit. Would love to know about sound vs the Audioquest Dragonfly options. I love the tonality and warmth of the Dragonfly Red. I got a Topping DX3 Pro+ for my desk and found it way too cold and clinical and lifeless. Just looking for a second DAC/Amp mainly for IEM, dongle would be ideal.

I also got one of these units , but I think I got the short end of the QC stick ,cause mine is producing strange noises for my IEMS whenever I use it.Tried it with PC , Android and iPhone.Waiting on sending it back to their workshop to give it a look at.

HBB you need to get a hold of the Khadas Tea and compare. Running my 7hz Timeless and Olina and both have made a step up in sound quality as opposed to directly from my mobile or DAP

Hello 🙃, that different volume steps that are needed for your 77db music volume could be just difference in the digital gain setup (moondrop vs cayin ru6) cayin maybe has it lower, so even though u need to pump the RU6 more it also maybe produce more output power to those 77db because of that lower digital gain if u get me. Too high digital gain is often not a very good sign cause u have limited usage of milliwatts, u cant use too much milliwatts (volume percentage), because it is already too loud at 20% not at 50%= less power. Because if something has lets say 270mw it has that 270mw at the full (100%)volume. To wrap it up if something is louder and u call it ,,more powerfull,, it can easily be quite oposite (just higher digital gain, with less mW, V, I on the given decibeles). I had some 50mW nextdrive spectra dongle dac that was almost as loud (because of the high digital gain) as my desktop amp, does it mean that it is as powerfull??? No!!! Power doesnt equal volume.

I think it is fairly neutral ala WM1A so it can go with about anything really.

I have the Tri tk2 and lotoo s1 original dongle, honestly don't think there is much difference between them,l still prefer the shangling m3x to both.l don't believe the power rating on the tri amp/dac either,doesn't seem to be that more powerful than the dongle.The power rating on this monndrop dongle would be an advantage...

These are like mini DAP so I can dig it and relate like this: OPUS #3 COLD>>>DX200 (OG) Neutral Sony WM1A leaning away from neutral >>> Sony WM1Z almost warmish >>>> Calyx Audio M Warm opposite side from OPUS #3 and DX200 The RU6 is not cold but it is kinda like an ibasso DX200 original stock amp. The Moondrop is more like a Sony WM1A I can give an opinion on L&P in that way

I use the Hidizs S9 Pro....It has 100mW out of the 3.5mm and 200 mW out of the 2.5mm balanced port and you can download (3) frequency responses for it ..... and it drives the Variations real good ! .....I might have to check out the Moon River 2 !

That was the last update I got from it, first they acknowledged it, but then a second rep from Shenzen said that it was in Chicago. Even there's literally nothing from the USPS that says it is. It's a international package so I can't track it, I told shenzen and they basically told me I was fucked. I guess I can't really blame Moondrop for Shenzen's shittiness, but I can blame them for selling me a defective product in the first place. 300 dollars down the drain. Lol.
