Don’t paint the other one. Use wood dye to keep all of the character of the wood. So it looks the way real pumpkins look. Maybe even dye it black and make the eyes glow orange and yellow like fire inside. Try glow in the dark pigment make it super spooky 👻 🎃 !

I love the stumpkin! I think it will also look better every year due to the natural aging process. Well done sir & I agree who can pass up a holiday with free candy? Fat or not LOL! I remember as kids we always had 2 bags, one we actually took up to the door with a few pieces of candy in it (they feel sorry for the kid with no candy & give ya more)! The 2nd bag/pillow case was in the car & you always kept filling it up with your scored loot! Mom always followed in the car but stayed a few houses back we didn't catch on for a few years she didn't mind doing that because she got to pick out her fav candy before we even got home!

The beginning of this reminded me of an old KZbin video of some Romanian guys that threw a chunk of wood the size of 10 year old kid on this huge lathe and fired it up. It looked totally safe. They were even wearing sandals. Hahahahaha They eventually ended up making a lamp post.

I’ve been wanting to try the woodpecker carbine tools. Is there a difference between the easy wood? Great job on the stumpkin.

The woodpecker shaft is cut with angles on the base. It allows you to hold the tool easier when using a traditional carbide on resin. Leads chip out.

Nothing like turning a massive tree trunk on your lathe. I use an engine lathe ( lathe for turning metal ) for all of my stuff. It weighs in at 2500 LBS and has a max diameter of 16'' over the ways and runs on 220V 3 phase
