Very clever Moonman... The multiple pours..loved that...as far as the veins..before you turn...and after the white pour...carve in the veins deeply..then do a red pour...no taping needed... Very creative...👍😉...🌿🌿🌿

I love it. The veins look a little thick to me, though. Maybe you could mix some red fiber into the white resin for a slightly more organic look... Or maybe those would be too fine.

If you take red resin shavings and mix it in, you get these whispers of color. Saw it on another channel with clear resin, tho. Not sure how it’ll do with white.

Here's some ideas I had, I would approach this more 3-dimensionally by first starting with a round wooden blank that's roughly the shape of the inside. Then build off of that in layers of veins (sculpted in something like miliput) and thickened white resin spread onto it until you get to roughly the thickness you want for your bowl. I would also try to have the lip of the bowl be more of a pinkish color faded to the white towards the inner iris. Also if you used a translucent white it would give it depth especially when light shines through it. For the iris and pupil I would make the whole circle out of color and dark streaks going towards the center then drill out the center and fill in the pupil. Anyways thanks for the video and hopefully some of these ideas helps for next time!

Why not use red thread dipped in resin to get it to stick then a layer of clear to get the depth and really fine look to the veins. Different thickness on the thread would be a pain to do but it would look neat

@@MoonpieCreations I just saw another video of some metal forging where they make the Soul Edge sword from Soul calibur. They actually used red thread for the eye in the sword looked rather realistic. Kind of crazy I suggested it to you then find a video where it was done days later.

Here's an idea: don't make the eyeball into a bowl but rather keep it a round sphere and find a cool branch to place the eyeball into the crotch of the limbs. If you are going for a Halloween vibe you can make the cornea yellow, the iris green and pupil red. I think your ideas of improvement will create a bowl you will love.

Most of my resin shavings turn white. I have saved some of the colorful shavings. BTW I recycle around 85% of my resin shavings and 100% of my wood shaving

Honey brown eyes are the best and show up well next to black 🙃 also…wood could be used for this color and would give it that iris effect! I think clear coat over after for that eye look. Also maybe something red in the resin so as it’s (uh…the spiny bit 🤦🏻‍♀️ shut up I’m here for art lol) some of it shows through. Like red trees but upside down in the pour? Idk I’ll think on the how lol

@@MoonpieCreations You can buy everything you need to do it safely today in one package. I’ve watched a few different people do it on KZbin, a couple of them looked jerry rigged, not the best idea. But most have ones that aren’t homemade and look designed to do nothing else. It actually pretty simple, it scares the hell out of me too. I’d want to spend some time with someone who has experience doing it, and can tell you exactly what you shouldn’t do.
