They’re actually called Agates! You can also find them in an assortment of colors.

Where is this located exactly in Cambria. I would love to travel there. It’s about 2.5hr from where I’m at.

Thanks for stopping by and your nice comment. Moonstone Beach Drive , Cambria CA Route one and left at the traffic light west of downtown town Cambria Moonstone Drive park anyway you can and just walk along the beach. Hope this helps!

After 2 years I finally went to this beach. Didn’t fine much moonstone but my kids sure love collecting nice pebbles.

@@FossilHunter51 Check online for any area you are rockhounding before you go. Some areas in CA have weight restrictions others such as National Parks will get you a $1000 fine for taking any rock, plant, grass, pine cone ect. from the park. I believe Moonstone Beach is part of San Simeon State Park but I have never seen or heard of a Ranger citing someone for taking rocks as a hobby. There are lots of rules in CA so it is better to check to avoid a Misdemeanor.
