I always put some dabs on the intake gaskets to keep them perfectly aligned. Also, I put some around those water ports. Good insurance, and never gave any issues. But anywho, I like how you are very particular with the details. 👍 Can't wait to see it run with these upgrades.
@BoostedMotorsports5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was debating it but since the edelbrock gasket already had rubber around the ports I felt pretty good about it being sealed
@02mp96965 жыл бұрын
@@BoostedMotorsports ya I use the same ones. And they work great on there own for stock replacements. But extra insurance is a bad idea 👍.You will be fine. When you do any gasket matching with ported imtake/exhaust, its a bit more important to keep them aligned. Your doing what I wanted to do to many of my 318/360s I've had. Can't wait to see the results, even if the gains are small.

This is a great video very informative. I love all the hardware store hot-rodding. It's great that you made a round stud for he throttle cable. but me being paranoid i would have added a jam nut to it in addition to the red Loctite.

Thank you for the all the trouble that you have gone through to make this video!!!! I am in the midst of finishing off ... the key works there is Midst... 3 years a little here a little there.... building a stroker 5.9 ...408 total .. we are using Edelbrock NHRA Superstock heads for our Magnum 2.08 intake and 165 exhaust? maybe 160 can't remember right now... Eagle Crank etc...the heads have taken a boat load of work... so far flowing at 315 cfm...FI Tech ..still in the box... and we had a Custom Cam Made ... computer modeling with the regular cam ... too much torque off the line so it would never hook up...Oh we opted for a single plane manifold ... so much more ...SHOULD HAVE JUST BOT A Demon Engine would have been cheaper... If I don't have 25k into this build I would surprised...it's going into my fully restored 99 Dakota.. now to shop for some street strip Radials. Thank you again...You are a great mentor!

That sounds like an awesome build! Yeah I came to the same conclusion that it would take a lot of money to make a magnum engine go fast so we are now doing a complete hellcat swap on this truck on this channel so make sure to hit that subscribe button and check out the other videos 💪

It's a shame that manifold is no longer produced. It would be great if someone made something similar. Would be great if it was a dual bolt pattern too (Magnum and LA).

Just a heads up, the yellow Teflon tape is for gas as in propane or natural gas. It should certainly seal your water fittings perfectly fine but that's what it was originally intended for.

As you probably know the magnum engines just like the Hemis are notorious for putting oil through the intake, so we have baffles under the pcv valve and we have the pcv on the passenger side front with a catch can, also, look in to the “S” bolt mod for the TB, I ran an accel 4bbl, but we couldn’t get it dialed in so I went with a 58 mm F&B that flows the same , build is looking good though , did Ryan tell you to upgrade the Injectors for the big TB? More air =lean in some cases

The outside holes are where the 2bbl adapter mounts, the adapter has 2 posts where the fuel rails line up over those holes. 4bbl fuel rails will mount from the bottom of the intake manifold.

Question. The stock intake cover had two grommets with an elbow- one on the driver's side, the pipe goes from the pcv elbow (on the intake valve cover) to the intake manifold, second one is on the passenger side, the pipe goes from my K&N CAI to the pcv elbow (on the intake valve cover). The mopar valve cover has a bigger grommet hole than stock. I noticed that you had grommets with elbow on them. Where did you get them? Thanks!!!

All I have to say is good luck finding one at a rational price. Zero aftermarket for these engines anymore in stock fuel injection format - nearly everything caters to carburetors or the LA Style block and heads - if you do find something that works - be prepared to part ways with your wallet. Most people want north of $400 for those intakes used. And at the end of the day if you have the stock heads - 99% chance they are cracked and trash anyway so that's about another $500 minimum if you want to do that "right". Also, even if your heads aren't cracked they're still extremely restrictive and you can't really port and polish them to remedy it so once again you're funneled into spending more money to fix something wrong from the factory instead of putting it into performance parts. Hp per $ value is no where near LS territory (sorry it's the unit of measure these days) - may as well swap it and throw a wuhan whistler on there and if you break it - parts are cheap and on the shelf. I was really geared up to build the 5.9L in my 02 Ram but after you compare the HP per $ it's just not worth it.
