I also have a 99 R/T. I like the process of step by step. Your really showing the capability of the truck and power gains as you go. Not everyone can go out and buy all the mods at once. It helps us make decisions on direction and maybe, ultimately what the limit of the factory parts can handle on a vehicle with miles. I have also learned a few things. Your doing great and thank you. I really enjoy your videos.

let's see the performance gains/losses for every individual change. I have a bone stock '99 R/T with 122,000 and would like to see how each mod effects performance and drivability....

For sure! That’s the way we’re doing the build so far just documenting the changes and seeing the results 🤟

Dude....this keeps getting better and better!! Like to see ya hit it with the HP tune then the track. My mechanic skills on a scale from 1 to 10 are a shakey 2 at best so I'm glad you post these so I can get a better understanding how all this shit works. I still go back to your RAM videos quite often. Thanks for posting all the great content.

Thanks for the support brother! Yeah its going to start getting pretty fun here soon with the boost. It will wake things up and get pretty fast here shortly 😎

Awesome man! Sounds like you were happy with the performance gain from just the intake and TB!
@BoostedMotorsports5 жыл бұрын
It’s better for sure. Still not what I would consider ‘fast’ but definitely a step in the right direction! Can’t wait until we bolt up that procharger 💪
@stevenmitchell63472 жыл бұрын
The distance from the throttle shaft to the pin for that trans cable is critical for proper operation. If the distance is too much, it activates too soon and too little will activate too slowly. Check the position of the pin on that lever compared to the stock unit. It's entirely possible that the pin will need relocation on the lever...even drilling a new location.
@kevinhounslow12225 жыл бұрын
Get the tune for the truck but , up load the tune after you go down the strip atleast once on the stock tune 🤙

I would do a few runs with just the mp performance ECU then give it an hp tune and measure the differences each time then with the pro charger test tune test tune....lol

Love the build but one thing to note. Do not drill a weep hole in a thermometer. That allows the coolant to cavitate along walls inside the engine block. I made this mistake many moons ago. The thermostat regulates temp and pressure. Sounds stupid but it's a real thing.

I stuck a hughes intake in my 96. Makes it rev quick that's about it. Other than that its a nice $600 hunk of aluminum. MPG stayed around 20 for a 5.2 4x4 5 speed.

@nadronnocojr5 жыл бұрын
Enjoying this channel every day more , and more , I my self have this truck same color reg cab etc, I have done a lot of the same exact mods , except this one m it was my next , descision , As of now , tho , with it in “peppy” mode is it in your opinion more wear and tear on truck . ? Mine is a little sluggish When not gettin on her, it doesn’t wander or anything just lugs abit under 45 mph . I live in the mountains so it down shifts a lot so that is why I left the cable adjustment ... Sunday I replaced , my tps, ntk brand and its only giving me 74% open throttle , and I replaced the idle air controller Sunday and it’s still lurching at lights 3500 rpm , I tried blipping throttle, nothing had to turn engine off , and trying to stall other times , I’m gonna try the disconnect terminal process you described ,,, I did the touch the disconnected + to the - to reset , not the one you mentioned .

Keep up the good work! I'm a viper fan and I love Dakotas. I have a 06 viper coupe. And 3 Dakotas. I have a lot of experience with both. I super charged and sprayed my 94 5.2 dakota to a 11.77. My viper has been 11.68. Its cheaper to race the dakota.lol. Love watching your experience. I know you will have a issue with head gaskets. You'll need better and studs with boost. But I want to see how hp tuners works for you. I will definitely follow!!.

How about a stock 0-60 pull then tune and repeat before the drag.
@BoostedMotorsports5 жыл бұрын
The 0-60 times I find are best to make from footage from the track since we can get 100% traction with the slicks on the prepped track 🤟

Hello Sir , can you tell me what part number PCM you are using? I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4x4 5.9L Quad Cab.
@steveparrish59475 жыл бұрын
The reason your truck shifting erratic and the hard reset fixed that issue, is that the PCM has "learn" logic in the programming. I worked for Chrysler/Dodge for 26 years. Adaptive Learning programming creatived lots of problems, especially when teenagers borrowed Mom and Dad's car back in the day
@firstnamelastname77015 жыл бұрын
That is not true, a 46RE with a JTEC pcm does not have adaptive learning, It used inputs from the tps, maf and speed sensors but those are set and have minimal effect on shifts, TV cable needs adjustment, even slight mis adjustment can cause lots of issues. Make sure lever at trans is at curb idle when adjusting.

Drag if with the stock to see how much it changes with a tune😎😎🤘🤘
@beargibson31005 жыл бұрын
The trouble with only doing the intake is that the stock one is designed to compliment the rest of the components. Its all setup up for low end torque. Changing to an intake that is designed for higher rpm power, but retaining the cam and exhaust that are designed for a lower power band won't give much in performance. Match your parts.
