Being at altitude is so weird… It’s like trying 100% and only getting like 75% output. You just feel weak. I ride bicycles up 14ers. It’s onset is gradual as I go up. I could imagine how hard it gets past 14000 ft. Climbing or hiking would be intense. You can think you’re tough but its not an option. You cannot overcome it.

Its honestly so frustrating to sit as a regular civilian and watch government, who are people in a position that's capable of doing something important. It's frustrating to watch them just stick to bureaucratic logistical options and abide by accordances and regulations even during dire times of important matters. Like I'm learning this now with the Ukraine situation. I'm happy the US is providing aid and stuff but there is so much more that could be done by so many other countries and NATO could just see the importance of Ukraine not falling, and just push anything through and make whatever they need happen, happen, like tomorrow! Its getting ridiculous. Russia has been destroying everything when given the chance, its just so annoying to see and deal with certain political nonsense shit when you have like really important life or death type stuff going on and they're just sitting back hoping it will get done. And most countries are too afraid to stick their foot in just even for a brief monemebt and help them get Russia out of Ukraine but NO... Geopolitically that's a bad idea they say.... Well I wish anyone except Ukraine had the balls and would stand up to Russia and stop this stupid attack that Russia started. Its like all Russia has to do is release a single sentence to a news outlet that is a threat if anyone helps Ukraine (like not aid, but on the ground troops assistance) why are we as a world still willing to just allow Russia to freely inflict war crimes anytime they please. Oh we tighten down political sanctions that sure will show the military.. The Russian citizens are the ones affected. We can't just all live in fear forever because Russia could shoot a nuke... Because that will always be possible. We can't let unprovoked evil just continue on like a repeating song...

It was somehow worse - expedition was met with complete and utter callousness, left to die on a mountainside (many did die or were close to) so the local authorities would pick themselves into letting travelers go to wherever they wouldn't die of exposure - and they had no reason to, they just didn't give a crap! And it also dragged for some time! And if my memory serves me well, they were met by ignorant petty despots, who didn't give a crap about anything, let alone all the lives their pettiness took. Expedition even heard of Tibet's bad rep when they were travelling from Kashmir to Eastern Turkestan through the mountains! It was known in the region! So I, who red first-hand account of how old Tibet was run, am struggling to believe the story about how big bad evil Chinese government destroyed peaceful enlightened nation.
