Should be easy enough to turn it into a zither too, with differently-tuned strings. It's a very cool build!

That's exactly i was thinking about. If one use different gauge strings that would sounds like a psaltery or a zither. I'll try it out.

Looks great and sounds great to. Its inspired to make one. If i built a larger one would the strings have to be thicker to get a C3/C4 chords.

Thanks for checking out the video. It's always difficult to say until you try it but if you increased the scale another 3-4 inches, I'd suspect you might want to go slightly heavier than what I used. Good luck.

Have you run it through a stereo tremolo pedal or a slicer pedal? I have the boss sl2 slicer and i bet it would be a fun combo. Great video and the byild quality is better than anything i could do.

Thanks for checking it out. I haven't run it through a stereo trem yet but I did try a stereo chorus and a stereo reverb. That's a great idea though. I'll bet you'd get some cool panning effects. One of the nice things is that the strings can be slightly out of tune and it really fattens up the sound. Kinda like when you slightly detune an oscillator on a synth. I need to record a track with some other instruments and see how it sits in the mix.

Balkan cymbals- the sound is almost the same. Cool ! I must try it

Thanks for checking it out Miku. I need to record this thing with a few other instruments and see how it sounds in that context.

Hello, how often do you have to tune it? Looks nice I must say.
@musicalmiscellany7 ай бұрын
After I'm done using it, I always take some of the tension out of the strings. So, I tune it every time I use it. If you left it under tension, I'd imagine it would stay in tune relatively well after the strings break in.
