More Alco Power For Preservation at SteamRanger Heritage Railway

Today we capture the delivery of Alco diesel 704 to SteamRanger Heritage Railway, along with the placement of 845 on to its bogies. A fantastic achievement by the team at SHR and congratulations go to all those involved.
SteamRanger are a heritage railway group based out of Mount Barker that operate broad gauge trains between Mount Barker and Victor Harbor.

G'day Kane. Without a doubt, my favourite loco is the 900 class streamliner, number 958 of the steam ranger heritage railway. Painted in SAR green and gold.

958 is an Alco powered 930 class. The 900's were English Electric built and powered.

@@VoyagersType 704 is currently on broad gauge bogies.....not possible to run it on the main line without changing to standard gauge bogies.
