Thanks for the power chart comparisons between the designs

My favourite flat engine was Citroen's 1360cc DS air-cooled four made up until 88.It had two OH cams driven by belt unlike VW pushrod and produced much more power at 65 bhp.Despite millions made it is often overlooked.

Nice demonstration but the boxer crankshaft in the 3D animation seems not the same as any latest boxer crank.

i think work similar like citroen 2cv, but in 4 cylinders

sound is from the header design not the engine

I would have made this video much better; I find it superficial and incomplete. Newton's Third Law, which is the basis of it all, isn't even mentioned. Newton's third law states that when two bodies interact, they apply forces to one another that are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.

The animation of boxer engine firing order is not correct.

Not only this, the "distinctive boxer sound" is also only a product of an assymetrical exhaust configuration. Older Impreza had it, but newer Subarus (including Impreza) had a symmetrical one and they sound just like any other engine.

Thank you for the correction, and we apologize for the mistake in the video where it was reversed; that was purely our error. However, William Mosse uses the same firing order, 1-3-2-4, referring to Subaru. If you are referring to VW, then it becomes 1-4-2-3.

@@ft-shareinternational2146 For a 4 stroke 4 cylinders engine, firing interval should be 180 degree crankangle regardless the engineconfiguration, but it is 360 in the animation. For boxer engine opposite go to TDC and BDC at the same time, therefore they cannot be have ignition consecutively. Bixer 4 firing should be left left right right. That's why B4 engine have special sound.
