The best use ive found for Norma MHP's is to shoot them into a barrel of water to make "bullet jewelry" They look really cool and can be used to make some neat stuff like necklaces or cufflinks, but yeah for defensive use i wouldnt count on it unless i lived in like... Florida maybe where clothing heavier than a flannel is borderline unheard of. The have really impressive performance on bare gel, but they clog WAY yoo easily when anytging thicker than a T-shirt is in the way.

Tools&Targets. I tested the Winchester Active duty M1152 115 grain 9mm out of my Glock 34 and the velocity is 1,398 FPS in a 5.3 inch barrel. The Sig P320 with 4.7 inch barrel hit 1,362 FPS. So only a 36 FPS difference. Pretty hot stuff. That Norma ammo is weaker and doesn’t even hit 1,300 FPS. How disappointing. I have some of that garbage in one box.

Bought some of this from PSA on sale. I did test it mind you I was only using water jugs I just can’t afford ballistic gel. And my results were it passed through first water jug and stopped in the second jug, which from what I’ve seen identical to Speer gold dot but much greater expansion than the gold dot. I shot the MHP out of a P365 and the gold dot out of a P228 so gold dot had a advantage with a longer barrel.both expanded perfectly for me

I bought a bunch of this in .45 when PSA was practically giving it away. Cheapest per round they had and free shipping got me to drop an order for it. I use it for paper punching ammo. If it wasn't the absolute cheapest per round I never would have picked any up due to the bad reviews. It goes bang, and is decently accurate...enough for steel, but that is the only thing to be said for this stuff.

I got a mess of it cheap. I've been letting the kids use it for shooting cans full of water with the PCC's. It adds a bit more splash than an FMJ and they think its great. It was worth $7 for that. Love your content. Ive tested these extensively in skin on pork shoulder with 2 layer T-shirt, leather and jean. Ive noticed the same phenomenon. They always open perfectly out of my shield plus PC 4". They open but slightly less out of my M&P 5" and no expansion out of 10" AR9 build. Im guessing the flats on the sides keep it from expanding at higher velocity. Ill keep carrying them in my edc cause they perform phenomenally in it. 124 HST +P in everything else.

10$ says the speed somehow got too much cloth in the hollow point and basically turned them into FMJs. what probably why most other fully copper bladed expanders like this don't seal the bullet, maybe having the open slots on the sides somehow helps keep the cloth from the blocking the tip, allowing it to snag traction and expand actually reliably.

I can't believe people are still trying to defend the CCI gel debacle. I absolutely love CCI, the only 22 ammo that I buy is Mini-Mags and Velocitors. I was pumped when the Uppercut rounds came out. But when multiple well known, trusted, and reliable gel testers get the same results (results that I have never seen any other good round replicate) AND the company recalls all the ammo? I bought some of this a while back hoping that it would perform as advertised it's a damn good-looking bullet in the casing too but the only way I could ever get it to expand on a semi normal basis within water jugs. Anytime any sort of barrier or fabric before water it was completely inconsistent garbage. Just use it for range ammo now surprisingly it is fairly accurate

Well thanks for showing the results in a longer barrel. I think at some point with the 9mm higher velocity ammos that you get bullets that are just too light for adequate defensive performance even if it his substantially higher than 1100 fps.

I was going to suggest the wrong gel defense🤤. An idea that didn’t work, but to put that picture on the front of the box is tantamount to fraud. There are copper expanders that look like that when Tools tests them, but these aren’t those.

Many rounds perform differently with length of barrel being integral to velocity. 9 mm unlike a cartridge like 357 is not greatly affected by barrel length. It has to do with ignition and pressure curve.
