Regarding dialogue options when trying to recruit npc, there are 3 types of npc, hunters, artisans and simple worker. They each have their set of reaction to chat. For example simple worker always react negatively to the "noble" and "early bird" conversation. When you realise that there is no need to save before chatting, you always know their reaction. Here's a list of negative reaction: Simple: job, noble, early bird Artisan: weather, field, hunt Hunter: gossip, noble

Where you are heading at 21:30 , by the river. That's where I set my base. Pretty decent location. Fairly close proximity to Gostovia, but at the same time, pretty close to a caves and the other towns that pop a quest every so often. It also has a good amount of flat terrain and a lot of wood supplies.

wooohooo big stupid smile on my face with the addressing of quests!!!!!! It is perfectly fine if you find yourself stumbling over reading out loud. Lots of people, including very erudite and charismatic speakers do the same. No need to get down on yourself. So happy you are addressing the issue though and have found a way to get through it.

Tip if you're like me; take logs, stones, and limestone out of your storage shed and put them on the floor in there (I do stacks of 10 logs, 25 stones, 25 limestone) gives your workers a TON more space to play with and you still have access to those resources easily for building, ALSO, take advantage of the resource sheds and put stuff in the appropriate chests (iron in smithy, flax and leather in sewing, etc) Love the content! :D Edit: also just got to the part where your farmers weren't working, quicksaving and loading will usually fix that for me. Seems to happen when they have a "conflicting path" it's weird.

The benefit to npc crafting is you get a constant passive flow of crafting tech points on top of that a crafting npc making iron hammers at 7 skill points will make you about 4k gold per year. Mind you 4k a year is nothing compared to what the player can do but at the same time its enough to pay the taxes freeing you up to whatever you want.

Kage a nice thing to have is a storage build where you get teleport with "unstuck" option in the main menu , i use it for gather a ton off log, rock ,clay or whatever you want

I put a person to make linen thread from flax stalk. It seems to be a decent job for them. Edit** Quicksave/Quickload fixes idle field workers.

in steam they discuss that one farmer can handle an 12x12 field in one year, so around 12 parts per day. on winter there cant be done filedwork so you can do an 9x12 per each fieldworker. and in winter reassign them to work something else. with so big fields you have enugh of everything to work with ;)

you're missing 1 of the continuous story quests, given by Alwin from the main village, half your workers aren't working properly because a lot of your chests are full meaning they have nowhere to store crafted goods, and your taxes are so high because you're doing so much farming, you have so much stuff stored in storage chests if you sold a lot of it you may find yourself having more money and your villages doing stuff.

@@Syphirioth I found out pigsty 50 kg bag can store unlimited items. I shift my logs and rocks . Heavy materials in that magic bag and empty resource storage . So that worker don't stop working...

What issues I have learned with field workers in this game: 1. They do not work when the player is not within a certain distance. 2. They can work the same field. However if they cue up to the same task with another field worker inly one will continue to work. 3. Tasks they perform: fertilize, sow, plant, harvest per field. Example; If the player goes to harvest while a field worker is harvesting, the field worker will bug out after the crop is harvested untill the player reloads from the TITLE SCREEN (reassignment or quick load doesnt fix). 3. If two field workers are on the same field and they try to perform the same task one will bug out. Example: and field worker A is harvesting and field worker B is fertilizing. Field worker A completes his task of harvesting. There is a chance he will sow the fertilizered plots worker B fertilized, but there is also a chance worker A could try and fertilize the remaining plots. If that happens one will bug out when they finish the field. -------------------------------------------------- Easiest way to make sure field workers dont bug out is to complete whatever task they have started after they go home or to the tavern for the evening before you go to bed. Reload from title screen daily if you are a heavy farmer to debug your workers.

I have my excavation site by a cave, later I will add a mine. I have a simple house and a tier 1 resource shed as well. I basically made a small settlement for my excavation needs. I don't think it was necessary, but I did it and have no regrets. The storage allows me to access tools and mats if I need them while I'm manually mining.

Go to the mine at any day you want, mine everything you need, encumber yourself just before midnight and once it is midnight the game automatically sends you to bed and you wake up in your house with everything you mined. So no need to wait for the end of seasons. This happened to me 2x right now. ;-)

@@domimimi42 i always notice this bug, but for me only happen during end of the season, i think what it do is, kill you and resurrect you in your house without ending the game, because every time it happen you get your all your health, hunger and thirst get reset, i always dont eat or drink if the next day is new season

you get passive tech points for your npc's working but its not the same amount or as fast as doing it yourself. just go do some mining. its suppose to get building experience but i think in this version its giving crafting experience. pretty sure the patch notes said they fixed that but im getting crafting experience when i mine. mining rocks give some really good experience for crafting. or you can farm rye and make tons of gruel. both work pretty well. also if you have like 10000 rye grain and start the task to cook them all to gruel right before a season ends you keep doing that task until its done or you quit it. extending past the season and added bonus your hunger and thirst stop when the season was supposed to end so its great for those really big tasks so you dont waste time next season doing it

where you put work place and house doesn't matter currently, this because of miner or any extraction station harvest resources as a rate not as an actual harvest process on those resources, i have my miners house in my village and mines built at the cave which is about 600 meters apart and still produce same amount of irons and stones every each day, the only thing important is villager's skills

You were talking about bows kg I know the iron arrows at least will cause bleed damage on hit targets and can be tracked. 2 in the head to take out bears and wisent with only the regular bow. Have not tried long or recurve yet.

Long bow with Iron arrows is one shot to the head outside of bears and wisent and it is very accurate and easy to use at long range.

I play this differently than most people as far as I can tell. First off, although I know it will take far more food/firewood once I bring in villagers, I use 18 day seasons. Why? Because I love roaming the woods and collecting resources, and because it annoys me that I have to build a village without a clue what buildings I have or how much space I need for each. Second, I craft and sell a ton of stone knives before I even build my first home. This is my second playthrough, and I have 7420 coins (have not touched the tech schematics yet), and have opened up buildings up to Smithy II, just about to get Tavern II; in Chapter 1. I have stone, limestone, iron, salt, and logs that I just keep adding to on the ground. I did complete Unigost's and Alwin's initial quests, and I have a huge garden (just about up to food storage II), etc. I haven't quite decided where to start my village yet lol. When I do it will be with tier II buildings and stone houses. Loving these videos and the game!

If you ever decide to start over, trust me, you'll get going so much faster. I'm not even year 4 on my current play through and already have a25 build limit and many tier 2 buildings. You just really have to do some farming in year one. Collect ripe berries, st John's wort and broadleaf plantation and make money that way, buy manure and seeds and get some stuff growing so you can access farming stuff more quickly.

I have no problem with field workers being next to each other on the same field. My issue is that often one or all will refuse to do anything but stand around. I’ve discovered that quick saving then loading that save almost always “wakes” them up. I’ve also had people trapped in a house or stand on a roof. That ended up fixing itself after the end of a season.

If you want to get you crafting up fast, stack of 50 arrows! Lots of em power ramps it up AND sells for quite a lot. Under each stack is worth like 300/400g of 50.

What is the benefit of having the large house VS the small simple house? Does it raise happiness? I have upgraded small simple house and simple house, the tenants in both have 61 mood so why bother with the larger ones?

@@samsquatch7285 I didn't test the happiness and by the time I even got anyone in it I had stone walls tile roof on it so it may have been that it was raising happiness but i prefer how they look and it saves on building space

hey Kage, i am loving this series! try the iron crossbow with iron bolts. Its slow, but one headshot bears and wysents. Also, i started to move my village to the lake(the left one on the map). Maybe its not the best place, but its cool have the house there. Its very plain, and "near" the other villages and mine. The only thing is the straw, but you can usem wood in the most roofs. You only pay the taxes once a year, so being far form the first village its not a problem for me.

Survival is for using the hunting lodge for gathering berries and mushrooms and the hunting skill is for actual hunting. A low hunting high survival will not be any good for hunting A low survival high Hunting will not be any good for gathering that's why the hunting lodge has two stats but it's not either or for hunting they are specific to what job you want them to do in the hunting lodge. Bear in mind I've never played this I don't have it and this is just my understanding from watching the game being played and my experience in other somewhat similar games so please by all means fact check this and verify it.

I have the same issue with reading out loud. I can read to myself just fine but reading it out loud is pretty rough for me. I was in a special ed class back in school for that very reason and even my special ed teacher called me stupid because I should be able to read at that level but the problem was I could read to myself just fine just never out loud. because of my teacher calling me stupid I dropped out because I don't think teachers should do that and it doesn't help the students at all especially if they actually had some condition. my experience I just didn't read out loud well but to myself just fine.

ok this is how you cure yourself get stupidly drunk wear a mask and the most ridiculous clothes you can stand to wear go to a super busy place and start reading a book aloud to passers by by the time 500 people have laughed themselves silly at you you will become immune to nerves next try doing it whilst sober finally try doing it whilst dressed normally without the mask if you can do that you will be cured

Is there anyway that your friend could share what they edited for the save file? I am in the same boat as you, 60+ hours in and stuck on ~700 rep. Grinding 300 rep at 2-5 a pop for side quests will take too long with all the other fun stuff you can be doing instead. I don't want to restart either. :( Great content btw. Thanks!

You do know gathering building need to built in the woods right..? Like the hunters lodge or the one that gathers mushrooms. It says in the description to build them in the woods

It says that, but various people have shown that it doesn’t change the production numbers. It may have changed in the last couple updates though. It may not have been put into effect just yet.

Gathering building? Like for clay or rocks? Those get built near clay or rocks. If you mean the hunter lodge then I don't think so. The hunter lodge has no requirement to be built in the woods

They only changed the reward start from chapter V, the farm one, thus U only lost 400 rap ( before update u gonna have 520 rap from first six chapters, compared to 920 rap now. However since U had finished Uniegost quest II,which gave you 300 rap, you should have 920+ 300+ 1000= 2220 raputation now.

Unfortunately babies count towards the population limit, so a double hit (first the worker becoming mother, and then the baby blocking a spot for a new worker)
