This game would definitely benefit from a class of workers focused on construction. So, you as the player can lay down buildings and your NPC(s) focused on construction will begin to build them. They will also focus on repairing damaged property. Unless, of course, they work as slow as the field workers...it'll be Middle Ages Dynasty before they finish!

I leave large groups of rock and stuff in my shed all the time. It's been there for months. I carefully stack bundles of ten logs so it's easier to grab em up and go when building. I also will drag large bundle of materials to a build site so I don't have to run back and forth. If you put your back to where youre going and, with empty hands, reach for a stack of an item, you can walk toward your destination, backwards, for a second during the pick up animation before you are encumbered. Then, turn drop it and repeat until you have the stack where you want it. I do this with stone on stone builds that need a lot so I don't gotta make a bunch of trips.

Would love to Ai builders who use the crafting skill. You set up the location and material type and then the ai builder could come along and put it together over time also they could do maintenance on your buildings. The firewood issue is the woodsheds make very little firewood and your settler use sticks instead of logs after running out of firewood which is annoying as they will go though 1000 sticks in a day in winter. Increasing firewood production or even allowing an ai crafter to make firewood would help big time as once you start getting large (18 settlers for me) firewood is just a chore.

Yeah, and I have trees growing in my fields and buildings now! :) Trees in field are no prob but once I cut ones in building I can't chop to logs...maybe if I reload!

Ya but now you Have to have a shovel to remove them as a farm plot won't destroy them and you can't build anything like a house over a stump either. However, it is a bit more realistic this way so all in all I like it

this update was yesterday and it sucks because you need to unlock the resource storage to get the shovel, so it means build at least three buildings and cut few trees before to get to said shovel... My opinion I hate this update, shovel should be made at the beginning as the other tiers 0 stuff

Building bigger house only gives a boost to morale I think. One thing I also noticed is that all inventory of common storage space is shared, so I built them all over the place (next to mine and such) so it's easier and faster to haul the goods you need.

I like the triangle roof piece. If you look between the wood, it looks like stone behind it. The wood looks like it just provides more support and astheticness.

I like the triangle piece being wood. I'd prefer it that way on all the stone houses, personally. Besides, once you put daub on it it really doesnt matter.

I don't know if you know since it's been a while since this episode was made but upgrading the tier 3 house is what you use all of that limestone for which can get your villagers up to almost 90 mood which is a big plus.

Sadly the lack of flat terrain and quicker travel system limits the practical building areas, i found some nice land down in the sw area with a big river and nice and flat and tons of wild life. But sadly it is so far away from everything else the time spent going anywhere takes too long and is not fun.

I also built alongside a hill and throw the logs down. One time a stack rolled into the water and I was amazed to see them Bob to the surface!

For future. Just grab what you need drop it by the build site. And go back and forth right off the bat. Then build so your travel distance to pick things up isn't that far.

Also, if you are logging down a mountain, you could just toss the logs out of inventory and they roll down the mountain a bit themselves

You could always drop small piles of stones on the edges of the road to create a curb effect. You could also do it with logs. They won't stop people from walking over them like a fence would. Put a ring of stone around a wash basin to make it look more decorative. I also think your making a mistake by putting houses so close together because I am willing to bet they will be adding a lot more decorations later on and it will have some effect on the people living in the houses. Also, I would build the palisades first so you know things are safely inside for when the bandit patches come later on. Farmers Lane would be my choice =)

You can tell kage is american from the fact that he likes to build his residential area in squares. Lol! I build my town at the triangle of roads east of the starting town. It's difficult place to build, but in the end it looks amazing. The triangle of roads makes up a town square. With height difference and closely placed simple houses, my residential area look like shanty town with small alleys in between.

pro tip, drop yourself stacks of 30 stones and 12 logs from the main pile, this way you dont have to retake the big pile each time, its much faster.

Yup. I do this with logs and sticks. Probably gonna do it with rock as well. Ive been dragging all my rock to a location for stone builds, that way I don't make trips.

I think a nice QOL change they could make would be if you assign a worker to the storage shed, It links up to the building so you have access to all stored resources without having to carry them. It's not realistic but it goes into the realistic/fun argument and I think it would be a good thing overall. Maybe make a setting for purists who don't want that so you have the best of both.

At some point the game will add a technology tree that allows player to create a cart and use cattle to move them, or they will add working animals like donkey or horses. And I hate when my farmers not working when I'm not around I wish the devs will fix that soon

hey Kage resource storage tip drop non perishable resources inside the resource storage they wont disappear there is a log storage space already in place just pick a spot for all the small resources. I've had my resources on the floor for a year and a half and they are still there.

For whoever moves in, check their happiness stats. My villagers were in the 50's for the simple home, 60's for t2 home, and 72 for the couple with the baby. They're 66 when pregnant. Whole household. Thats t2. So if t3 is about raising the happiness then all my villagers will be in the t3 houses.

Well Paper St., sort of goes, but not really. Working for the city I know they call streets that are on a map but that are not built “Paper Streets”. Your’s are “streets” that are built, but not on the game map. I don’t know anything about Butcher LOL But it’s probably not what you’re thinking of, it’s probably a game thing. LOL Good episode.

Just build 2 logging huts or what ever it is named of the second tier and have 4 ppl logging. I'm on over 300 logs and something like 1k sticks and I just moved from winter to spring.

Too many logs fills up the resource shed though. Nothing else will go in it when you go over the cap. I already leave logs and rock and leather stacks laying in my resource shed as it is... 2 more lumberjacks... ugh.

What if I didn't like either one . They did not use paper in these times so paper street is a no .Butcher street does not sound like somewhere nice . I would name them after trees . Elm street , Maple street , etc . Or the street I live on is named after the first people who lived here so you could use peoples names like Kage street . My favorite is Elm street lol .

Well, horses are coming. It's not only in the road map (riding) but there is an ability that you can't get under survival, I think it was, called Night Rider. The description is "allows you to ride a horse".

how did you store the wood on both side of the wood shed? cause when I put 20 wood in chest it only loads the right side not left side. im guessing you upgraded the woodshed if so did you had to break tier 1?. also do you have any tips for getting building tech fast?

Your wood cutters are inefficient because they are too far away from trees. Their animation is two swings per tree. They are spending way too much time going between trees. Same thing happens with Hunters and Gatherers.
