@@furiousdrivinghi matt, love your videos, every single one is interesting and i never ever miss them. As i have previously mentioned in a comment before, i work at my dads bodyshop in the cambridgeshire area having previously been a coach driver. I can relate to welding fires, as i said before my grandad has a 62 superminx that is a ongoing project only in terms of bodywork, mechanically sound. However the sad part is before the superminx he had a 73 maxi 1500, basically it came from a mate of dads in the trade and was in lovely condition, grandad drove it for a few years then it failed an mot on welding, ( before it was mot exempt of course), the guy at the time who was working for my dad put it on the ramp and did the welding, halfway through the interior was engulfed in flames, a spark had ignited the drivers seat, the fire was quickly put out but had melted the seat, door panel, carpet, sunvisor and headlining. Amazingly the steering wheel remained untouched, but it ended up sitting there awaiting parts which impossible to find believe it or not and the poor car rusted away in 3 years, suspension sagged one side, clutch siezed and it got scrapped. Hence the purchase of the superminx, the guy getting sacked there and then and me giving up the buses to work there. Shame about the maxi but considering the minx is 11 years older the difference in quality is unreal and just shows how welding is a skilled job and you know what you are doing and you will soon have that vic sorted 👍👍, pleasure to watch you mate, shame im not more local to you because id love to meet you, you are the type of guy i could chat to for hours lol, top work mate keep it up. 👍👍

Great skill to weld up a car with such chronic rot issues, even if progress is slow. It is the elixir of life for older cars that would otherwise be scrap, I admire and secretly envy people with the skills to do it, I don't have time in my life to go on a welding course. Keep chipping away mate, imagine the sense of achievement when it is complete. You can truthfully say at least 10% of the car was made by you!

No luck finding a facit of the shapes on the other side? Should there be some outlet in the torpedo corner for water dripping in through the air inlet for the coupé? I know Volvo let's water wash out through the whole sill in spaced slits, putting a hose down the air inlet for the coupé makes water come out through those holes one after the other.
