victims should always be believed, but i find that difficult given the history of lying and pretending to be someone they’re not. i still believe a lot of this document, and fully support the victim in those circumstances, don’t get it twisted. i believe much of it could’ve been prevented, but at the end of the day it’s joe’s fault. he is a manipulator and abuser. i believe the situation could’ve been handled much better by the victim, and them repeatedly reaching out to joe to meet with him even when joe told her not to doesn’t fit in the realm of ‘manipulation’ for me. that part was an obsession. this is an overall very unhealthy situation. i stand with the victim as long as they’re telling the truth. i would never stand with joe for something like this. - tal

it's not my intention to make this about me but i'm the one who got her identity used by this person and i have to say that although i believe her experiences are true, you all should know that she did insane shit before this. she began harassing and insulting me endlessly in may 2023 for accusing me of being a victim of Joe (even though this is NOT true) and didn't stop until just recently. it was over a year of being insulted very cruelly through my social media almost every day, getting personal information of me and my family members, pretending to be me on twitter to accuse Joe of grooming me and even messaging and calling my family members. it's insane and i think you should know that before reading this doc.

I'm seeing a lot of (i assume young) fans who recently joined the fanbase being destroyed about this and I can't help but remember 17 year old me one year ago, absolutely hyperfixated on the band and watching one of the only things making me happy get destroyed, followed by months of twitter and tiktok drama that made me move to instagram and eventually stop interacting with the fanbase... I assume it will be slightly different this time, tho it's true that a lot of fans joined without knowing about past controversies. Despite everything, the nausea over discovering these things, the sadness of seeing something beautiful you loved get destroyed, the fandom will stay there, even broken. I still have old mutuals who are now friends, even if we don't talk about the band that much... You'll find other things you like... and it's okay to feel bad until that happens. It will be okay. "Victims should always be believed" No, ACCUSORS should always be SUPPORTED. Giving somebody the title "victim" before it's confirmed is just as disingenuous as calling somebody an "abuser" without evidence. It's important to help people come forward, but counter-intuitive to give so much power to people with unsubstantiated claims. That's how you create abusers, thrusting power in the hands of random people on a whim.

Why did the person resort to telling the whole internet/fandom (through a doc) instead of getting the authorities or so involved??. I am not against the victim of this, but people should at least respect Joe’s boundaries. i just want things to get better man. I want to believe that Joe is an innocent person, but the reality is he isn't and it hurts to know that. Tally Hall will never be Tally Hall again. Joe Hawley isn't Joe as we once knew. Something has taken him over in his head, and its not anyone else's fault that he is this way.
