And they think 20 MPH speed limits will fix this? Most of these accidents caused by people DWI or DUI.

Safety is in the hands of the pedestrian. You know drivers in NYC are nuts and angry so unfortunately you have to look both ways then look again.

Just make the speed limit to 5 mph. No matter how low they bring it down lunatics are going to drive like lunatics or agresive drivers criminals with fake plates distractive drivers. What they have to to is come up more law enforcement.

And I see comments saying “pedestrian, pedestrian pedestrian.” Pedestrians have right away no matter what. Yes, you have to follow traffic rules even on foot, but still. Also, it’s on the onus of the driver to make sure he’s operating the vehicle in a safe manner and under traffic regulations. So whoever blames this on the pedestrian, F off. Take at look at your politicians. They’re allowing this chaos.

Right of the no matter what, running on DO NOT WALK sign, J walking, walking along the roadway, yeah Pedestrians are right no matter what. Both drivers and Pedestrians need to realize that its a two way street, we all have to be MORE RESPONSIBLE for our actions, not just drivers.

They walk right in front of the vehicles. I see it all the time. I don't understand why. Did the mother even look before she walk into the street? The other day I saw a mother with her children do that and the driver was able to stop. Pedestrians can be ridiculous when it comes to this. Why would u walk in front of a moving vehicle or into the street without looking? Please keep that in mind

People in New York have that “I don’t car” attitude, or have the mine state that they’re always right or that people have the right of way. I see people standing with the kids on the side of the road instead of the sidewalk. Smh.

More people are involved in car crashes, stabbings, and shootings as well, but no legislation is ever pushed. Need more prosecutions as arrests are up. It's a judicial problem.

I'm very concerned! That being said, which concerns are you most concerned about? In other words, at the end of the day that challenges you the most, are your unprecedented challenges very concerning (in one way or another)? These are the concerns that challenge me the most and, when all is said and done, they're most concerning, as an inflection point of traumatizing concern. Are you concerned? If so, let's share our most terrifying concerns; sharing challenges and concerns promotes healing. Healing and closure is what concerns me, authentically and sincerely! Please reach out, with stunning authenticity and heartbreaking concern; it's very empowering and it serves as a catalyst of kindness and a synthesis of symbiotic synchronicities! Love you! I really do (so authentically)!

How are so many small children getting hit crossing the street with parents and the parents not getting hit? Shouldn't the kids be right by your side? Who cares how many strollers or bags you're carrying. It's up to you to keep them tethered right next to you. They should not be in front or behind you!
