I think Emily must have been invited on the show and given the mission to make Jason have a heart attack. The way she just stuck one of the false chameleons on him gives me life. And the contrast between Jason's reactions and everyone who holds Doug like it's either no big deal or the greatest day of their life just makes it so much better.

Obligatory "The traditional color-based rhyme for coralsnakes isn't recommended as an identification trick as it isn't foolproof and only applies to snakes that live in parts of North America. It's far more advantageous to familiarize yourself with venomous snakes in your area through photos and field guides than it is to try to apply any generic trick." There are also lots of coral snakes with aberrant patterns, that don't follow the rhyme, but could still kill you.

A better rhyme would be "If you don't know what it is, leave it tf alone".

@ConstantChaos1
@ConstantChaos1 Жыл бұрын
It was a local show so that's why she went with the region specific ID method, but more than that she is trying to reduce the public fear of snakes so by reminding people that this species is harmless and should just be left alone (she is very clear about not bothering wild animals untrained) she is going to reduce incidents of attack and snake death alike, snakes don't pursue people by making people less afraid they will help them not to freak out and do something stupid. She goes more in depth in her videos don't worry Edit Emily replied holy shit nvm imma leave it to her lol

Don’t be rude! Especially on his own channel?? He seems like a cool dude, and everyone seemed to enjoy having Emily on. No harm done, and why should someone have to be extremely famous to collaborate with Snake Discovery, anyways? That’s absurd. Emily can collaborate with whoever she’d like to and often does educational shows at schools and such. This feels really snooty. I understand that some people are annoyed that they didn’t get an opportunity like this and feel like they would’ve enjoyed it more, since they love reptiles and are sick of seeing people scared of them when they’re harmless, but that’s not an excuse to take those feelings out on others, assuming that’s why you’re annoyed.

@@wildflower1397 Oh, I hope it is, then! :’) That would make sense, and it would be a really funny comment if so. I’m just going to leave my reply here just in case, though? Unless the commenter themself clarifies intent, then I’ll delete it. Since even with that context you can’t be too sure of tone with text, and I think being reminded to be mindful of being kind and constructive is good, just in general, for anyone passing through? Mainly for people who would actually take this seriously and agree with it. Although if I knew that it might be sarcasm I would’ve worded my comment wayyy differently, or not bothered commenting at all. Oops.
