That's why, when Labour came in - and being socialists - they felt the need to do something. Because they're (relatively) honest and know that problems need solutions. The Tories are basically to busy filling their pockets and enjoying power without responsibility to care that the problems just get worse. This is why the water companies, for instance, have felt able to pour toxic garbage into our rivers and lakes. This of course never stops people like you from spouting the same old ordure regardless of reality, with which you have a tenuous relationship at best.

When I left the UK in 1986 after three years with the USAF at RAF Lakenheath there were only 2-3 British news stations. And at one time when a US movie "Rambo" was to be shown down town in Cambridge, the UK cancelled the movie because it was to violent...Brit citizens protested and then they allowed the movie. A few years later the UK got cable TV and violent crimes started going up and "never stopped"...It was the US Hollywood film industry that was to blame, according to the UK, for the increase in crime at that time. I believe that was a big part of the problem for the UK..And there laws became more "Lenient". IMO
