The first race I ever went to I made the mistake of grabbing a nitro buggy by the sides marshaling it and burned myself on the exhaust pipe.

I raced at beach rc in 2017. I stopped racing because of family issues and I was growing up.. I’m starting to get my trophy truck back and about to practice. I will be in a all blue truck for now

Just a quick caution. Most of the short course around the midwest don't run the side bumpers. Best just to grab front and back bumpers to handle them.

Good advice! One thing on marshaling nitros while this is important for all classes it is especially important for nitro. Make sure you marshal the one thats been on its lid the longest since the fuel sloshes away crom the sump pickup so when upside down the engine is only running on the fuel in the lines and the longer its on its lit the more likely it will stall from lack of fuel so marshaling speed is more critical.

also dont pick a notro car up in the wheels as those are running away, same for electric as some drivers are eager to get going before the car is on the ground.

Love the details you put into your videos, and that pink to white color scheme is so sick! Really appreciate all the helpful tips, thank you for sharing!

I quit racing my RC10T in 1994 out of frustration for the same issues mentioned. I've owned plenty of race level RC cars since then but mostly I just go on empty practice days.

I rarely ever yell at other people on the stand unless they dumped me over a jump while I was lapping them. I never yell at marshals unless they’re not paying attention or taking a ridiculous amount of time to get to my car. I mostly yell at myself if I mess up enough times.

One thing I didn't realize when I was first starting RC racing with regards to marshaling is that you should marshal after the heat or after the race that you were in. I don't know if that's universal all over the place, but that's how it's run here in NJ. Oh, and if you're in the last heat/race then you marshal the first heat/race.

Good advice. I like your video. One thing I noticed you keep referring to them as toys. It was always explained to me that hobby grade RC vehicles are not toys. They can hurt you and ultimately burn down your house if batteries are not used properly. Be safe, keep the shiny side up.

Hi. I just found your channel. This is fantastic , thank you. I’m looking to return to the hobby after having raced in the late 80sand early 90s. A lot has changed. I now live in Atlanta. Do you have any recommendations for hobby shops and dirt tracks in the metro or surrounding areas?
@RoachRC
@RoachRC 2 жыл бұрын
It's great that you're trying to get back into it but Atlanta doesn't have very many close by tracks. The two closest would be Loganville RC complex and The Barn RC raceway in Barnesville. Both can be found on Facebook

What is you billing department info. The joke about the pencil and “no point” was so terrible. I would like to bill you for my time that you have taken from me. Approximately 5 seconds = $25,300.00 🙄
